KMII recounts his long-awaited encounter with the F.P. Journe Chronomètre Bleu at a PuristSPro GTG, a watch he had admired from afar. His post captures the excitement of experiencing this iconic piece on the wrist, highlighting its unique aesthetic and the debate surrounding its ownership experience.
And no matter how well stocked a dealer, AD or Boutique may be, it is difficult to match the variety, diversity, the sheer horological breadth of what gets seen at a GTG. And while the friendships and the possibility of discussing watches with like minded people is what it's all about, we tend to post pictures of watches, and not necessarily fellow Purists (most of the time)

The F.P. Journe Chronomètre Souverain represents the foundational timepiece within the brand's Souveraine collection. This reference demonstrates the manufacture's approach to precision timekeeping through manual winding mechanics, positioned as a core offering in F.P. Journe's lineup.
The 40mm case is executed in 18k rose gold with a fixed bezel configuration. A sapphire crystal protects the silver dial, while the manual-winding caliber 1304 movement provides an 80-hour power reserve. The timepiece features 30-meter water resistance and is paired with a leather strap. Production commenced in 2000.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking F.P. Journe's mechanical execution in a fundamental three-hand configuration. The substantial power reserve and manual winding caliber position this model for enthusiasts who appreciate traditional watchmaking approaches within the Souveraine series framework.
I have heard and read a lot about the CB but all i can say its all true what they say about it . That dail is just mesmerizing. Great post and pics , thanks
Thanks for this additional, excellent shot of the (same) watch! And I agree - it truly is spectacular
So much so, that I am now trolling the net looking at some other pieces. I especially like the Havana models.
This CB is really quite cool, and in that environment it was even cooler
And I do not understand why I do not own one...
The latest version was the ROO Diver QE II Cup, in 2014, if memory serves correctly.
