AndrewD introduces the Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye in steel, highlighting its design versatility and suitability for a petite wrist. This article explores how the brand successfully translates its iconic ladies' line into a practical yet elegant everyday timepiece, featuring a diamond bezel and an automatic movement.
The Cat’s Eye design has been an enormously successful ladies line for GP and with good reason because the shape lends itself to different orientations, finishes and sits comfortably on a petite wrist.
The new Cat’s Eye in steel is a practical every day watch with a touch of class with the diamond bezel.
I snapped this example on the wrist of the charming Ekaterina during the Young Watchmakers tour of Australia.
The brushed champagne dial is lovely and features teardrop hour markers. The date window echoes the shape of the case and doesn’t distract from the overall design. The power reserve is placed in a constellation of stars and there is a sub-seconds dial do demonstrate that this is no quartz powered watch.
There is an automatic GP03300 -0070 beating inside which can be viewed through a sapphire case back.
Girard-Perregaux have always been very strong in ladies watches and this steel version of the Cat’s Eye is a great addition to the range.
