Friends,

This year we saw the comeback of the Girard-Perregaux LAUREATO!

The limited edition of 225 pieces with Silver dial and 225 pieces with Blue dial, reference 81000 for men.

225 pieces in honouring the 225 Year’s Anniversary of the Manufacture.

One of next year’s novelties will put the ladies in the spotlight, Girard-Perregaux is launching the LAUREATO 34!

The characteristic octagon bezel, “Clou de Paris” hobnail motif dial, applied indexes and broad sword hands.

Here in a more female version.

56 brilliant-cut diamonds on the bezel.

The dial comes in three versions; silver-toned, grey and blue dial.

Still haven’t seen the silver-toned or the blue, but if anything like the men’s version, it will be good!

This LAUREATO 34 is like the name indicates a creation with a diameter of 34mm (7.75mm thick).

The case comes in two metals, one in Pink Gold and one in Steel.

Now the big surprise here is that the movement is a Quartz movement!

Quartz movement calibre GP013100-0002/0003/0004 (silver-toned/grey/blue dial versions).

Still a bit puzzled why different movements depending on the dial, since the case back is solid so you will not be able to see the movement.

Why did GP opt for a Quartz movement?

Well I am not sure, but considering that the original Laureato had Quartz movement, maybe it is a way to connect to the history of this line.

Hope to find out more soon.

One thing I really like here is that the LAUREATO 34 comes both with a bracelet and with two strap option (leather and rubber).

Another piece I am looking forward to see in real.

Hope to have more pictures to share with you here soon!

About the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Ref. 81000

The Girard-Perregaux Laureato reference 81000 is a notable iteration within the Laureato collection, distinguished by its refined proportions and classic design elements. This reference maintains the core aesthetic of the Laureato line, characterized by its integrated bracelet and a blend of polished and brushed finishes. It represents a period where the Laureato continued to evolve while retaining its foundational identity as a versatile sports watch. The dial features a "Clous de Paris" pattern, providing a subtle texture and play of light. Applied indices with tritium lume and a date window at 3 o'clock complete the dial layout. The model name "Laureato" is engraved on the case back, rather than printed on the dial.

The watch is housed in a 36mm case, a size that offers a balanced presence on the wrist. The case design incorporates the signature octagonal bezel, which is polished, contrasting with the brushed surfaces of the case and integrated bracelet. The movement is an automatic caliber, providing reliable timekeeping and a date function. The crystal protecting the dial is sapphire, known for its scratch resistance. The construction ensures a degree of water resistance suitable for daily wear.

This reference appeals to collectors who appreciate the historical context of the Laureato and prefer watches with more traditional dimensions. Its design, with the integrated bracelet and textured dial, positions it as a sophisticated option within the category of bracelet-equipped sports watches. The subtle blue-grey dial color further enhances its appeal, offering a distinctive look that can shift under different lighting conditions. The presence of tritium lume on the indices and hands is a detail often sought by collectors interested in vintage and neo-vintage pieces.

Looking interesting!

Now if it was to lose the diamonds and gain a mechanical movement I\'d be quite interested to try it out at an AD Well a 38mm may be even better Still it is nice to see a Laureato for the ladies and the quartz movement is at least, well, appropriate to the model line...

Yes, 34 mm could also work for a man...

I like it a lot

it's god to have another steel Ladies watch that is both sporty and elegant in the collection. The grey dial looks fantastic and I prefer the Laureato with the bracelet. The diamonds? I think they work for a Ladies watch, but would also be nice to have a non-sparkle option. Looks like lot of exciting news coming prior to SIHH and possible at SIHH
