Remember my back story on the Girard Perregaux Laureato Big Date Moonphase RDM?

Well, add jealous petulence to the list of endearing qualities... He'd been running like a champ after self repair while sitting in a safe for a couple years (see link above): +10 seconds in nearly a month and a half of daily wear... I needed to go on an international business trip which required me to wear very specific pieces, and bringing the Laureato Big date would mean carrying with me too many timepieces for the current travel climate...so on Nov 26th I made sure the RDM was fully wound to 40+ hours, then placed in the safe deposit box, knowing that it would be stopped, having run out of power reserve by the time I got back on Dec 1. But that's ok as the moon phase was incorrectly set too fast by a day and a half anyway, previously, so coming back, it should have been just a matter of adjusting the time and advancing the moonphase by 1- 2 days. Simple, right? Well, I didnt take into account an emotional petulent watch - he was mad and jealous not to be taken along and my sharing wristspace with other watches... And so, I came back to this -

Yep, he stopped running early, with plenty of power reserve left... My first reaction was, "Sheit!!!! I really need a watchmaker now... " Remember, he'd been running perfectly for a month before... Well, guess what...I gave him a quick shake, put him on my wrist, and he's been running perfectly again for the past 6 hours... So I guess I have to add personality to his list of endearingly charming qualities... Cheers, TM

We were always saying how the little horological marvels have character...

Your GP simply seems to have more than most

Given that he has been running spot on to the second

For nearly 24 hours now, Im beginning to think I need to give him a name...

Lol my gut instinct is...

Her because of her highly emotional nature (let the sexist accusations fly lol) and because I'd rather have a her on my wrist with me all the time (maybe that's why I dont have a son?!?) But him because of the very masculine aesthetics... Decisions decisions lol

Gertrude! Or Gertie when she behaves herself

If I can get indulge in a gross stereotype here. Character sounds a bit Teutonic to me (no offence to our German friends, of course That\'s one "lively" timepiece
