Amanico shares a quick look at the Girard-Perregaux Richeville Day Night, reference 27610, a watch he deeply admires for its distinctive design. This initial post sets the stage for a forthcoming detailed review, highlighting the unique case shape, dial layout, and innovative 24-hour inner ring.
Here is a Watch which I really adore for several reasons: The shape of the case, which I find sublime.
Then the dial. I am not very fan of unbalanced dials, but in this case, I find it works pretty well!
And this " faux air " of a world time, with this 24 hours inner ring, which displays the time in such an original way. Here is a quick picture of a Watch I will soon review:

Best,
Nicolas

This model stands out with its unique day/night indication and an unconventional approach to time display, offering a blend of classic elegance and innovative design.
It features a self-winding mechanical movement, likely based on a Girard-Perregaux caliber, housed within its curved case. The dial incorporates a 24-hour inner ring that provides a visual representation of day and night, adding a functional yet artistic element to the watch. The case dimensions are designed to sit comfortably on the wrist, complementing its refined aesthetic.
For collectors, the Richeville Day Night 27610 represents Girard-Perregaux's willingness to explore alternative displays and case forms beyond traditional round designs. Its unique dial configuration and elegant tonneau case make it a notable piece for those appreciating watches with individual character and a departure from conventional layouts.
Excellent choice for a detailed review. Looking forward to it. I also think this model has something of a Regulator, even more than a world timer. I have to say though at times it takes a second look to read the time on this watch. My girl friends doesn't like it because I always confuse her when she looks at the dial to quickly read the time.. hehe. Here is my contribution of my 27610 in Rose Gold. CC
Love that case design. Would be nice if the power reserve was on the back. I have just purchased my first Girard Perregaux and it is on its way from Switzerland. Nothing like this one. Actually nothing like any normal watch. But real excited. Anyway I really think GP could do some amazing things with this shape of case. It could eventually be an iconic case design if they did it right and persisted with a whole collection around it. Looking forward to the review ! Dean
Isn' it 6.47 AM, on your Watch? ;) Best, CC. Nicolas.
Didn't realize it was the same case. Looks like a much cleaner case design than the stepped cases or two tone cases of the Richeville line. Dean
G-P has a way with colorful, quirky dials as with the w.w.t.c. (which I guess is now part of the Traveler Series)
H Nicolas, This Richeville tempted me a lot each time I saw it. I could well end up with one someday. It's like an independant watch in terms of approach to functions. And the overall design is very much voluptuous, somewhat italian (like all great GPs), daring yet lasting and out of fashions. A great underestimated watch. Best Dje
