Andrewluff introduces the Hublot Big Bang Broderie collection, a bold fusion of traditional embroidery and modern watchmaking. This article highlights Hublot's innovative partnership with Swiss textile company Bischoff, showcasing how the brand pushes boundaries by incorporating unexpected materials and designs. Readers will discover the unique aesthetic and technical challenges overcome in creating these distinctive timepieces.

Trying to create something new and unique has always been difficult... but this time I think Hublot have definitely created something new, original and truly encapsulates the 'Art of Fusion'!   By partnering with one of Switzerlands leading textile companies (Bischoff based in St Gallen) and after several months of development by Hublot R&D we see the release of the new Broderie collection.

Incorporating the old with the new to create something fresh and up to date is nothing new to Hublot who have pushed the boundaries in many other pieces (think of the grass markers in the Manchester United King Power or the tobacco dial in the Forbidden X) and by using a skull pattern on the embroidery stretches the art of embroidery firmly into the future rather than being something left with memories from past generations.

3 different models have been announced in either yellow gold, steel and all black (ceramic) as a limited edition of 200 pieces per material, the most subtle being the all black version which I think could be worn by either gender.   In all these models we not only see the fusion of embroidery, ceramic, carbon fibre, rubber and many other materials... but the inclusion of 198 diamonds (1.12cts) on the case and 11 diamonds incorporated in the dial!

All Black Diamonds

Personally, I think the collection is quite refreshing and I can see it being popular with women around the world.  the all black version being my very favourite, in fact if they produced it in the 43mm case (without the diamonds and a plain strap) I would probably buy one!

and two questiones come to my mind. The embroidery is it crafted by hand and is it Swiss Made? In general I have a (small) weakness for skulls, but I would have prefered/expected something more "Swiss" on the dial - in case of this cooperation. Also I agree, it would be even better without diamonds. It is not necessary to get attention and maybe it even distracts.

The embroidery company has been in St Gallen since 1927 and its factory is based in Diepoldsau. Here is an interesting video on the collection and partnership... Cheers Andrew
