cazalea recounts an intimate gathering of independent watch enthusiasts, highlighting a special focus on German watchmaker Marco Lang and a rare display of British horological masterpieces. His report captures the palpable excitement and deep appreciation among collectors for exceptional craftsmanship, particularly when examining pieces from George Daniels and Roger W. Smith.

happened last night in a private residence, with great watches on hand. These two photos will give you a clue as to our theme:

Americans and Germans gathered to peruse the hand-made German watches on display, accompanied by their maker, Marco Lang.

While comparing our own assortment of Omega, Chronoswiss, Nomos, Grand Seiko, Seiko Presage and others including a Logical One, (along with the L&H watches) many glasses of wine were consumed and stomachs filed with great food.
Then things started to get crazy. The loupes came out:

Eyes strained to catch even the tiniest flaw or missing detail on a couple of "obscure" British watches

Well, if you call Isle of Man British (I do) and...

if you call just a few score of watches in a lifetime "obscure" (I don't)

If you like your hands carved from solid gold, this was the night for you

Mouths were gaping open

Hands trembling

Thanks everyone for the invitation, food, drink and watches.

The British aside, very much hoping to see some of that German goodness on the East Coast this coming week. I have just (two weeks ago) seen my first L&H in the metal and am very eager to see more.
