Amanico initiates a compelling discussion on the Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX series, inviting collectors to share their preferences among the various iterations. His detailed breakdown of each model, from the original AMVOX 1 to the AMVOX 7, highlights the evolution of the line and its design choices, particularly the controversial return to traditional chronograph pushers in later models. This thread offers a valuable historical perspective on a distinctive JLC collection.
1, 2, 3, 5, 7?

I was in love with the One... Deeply mad about the 2... Intrigued by the 3, and then.... Well.... Quite indifferent with the others.
The 1 was a superb modern evocation of th Polaris. The 2 a captivating concept Watch. The 3 was interesting, but playing in another Financial league.
The 5? I didn't like the return ogf the chrono pushers. The 2 launched a new vision of Chronography, I was a bit disappointed to see the 5 coming back to traditional chrono pushers.
As for the 7, it is an Amvox II for Aston Martin owners. Which has an interest for them, and only for them.
So... II, then I for me.
For you?
Best,
Nicolas
The Amvox2 represents Jaeger LeCoultre's approach to contemporary sports timing, offered here in the Steel Black series configuration. This 44mm reference positions itself as a substantial automatic chronograph within the Amvox2 collection, distinguished by its monochromatic steel and black dial treatment.
The 44mm steel case houses an automatic movement and features a black dial beneath sapphire crystal protection. Water resistance extends to 100 meters, while a fixed bezel completes the case architecture. The steel construction and automatic movement provide the mechanical foundation for this chronograph reference.
This Steel Black series Amvox2 appeals to collectors seeking a modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports chronograph with substantial wrist presence. The 44mm case diameter and black dial configuration offer a contemporary alternative within the Amvox2 range, providing automatic chronograph functionality in a steel sports watch format. The combination of size, materials, and dial treatment positions this reference for collectors focused on modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports complications.
then, I agree, it sort of went pear shaped. But to each his/ her own...
because of the pure forms, which remind me of the Polaris....
Because I own an Amvox 2 but my preference is for the Amvox 1 (SS please). I was silly to sell my Amvox 1 and one day it will be back. Cheers, Nilo
But the vote has been made, and that makes 3 6 1 for the One! Best, Nicolas.
Well, I love all three of the Amvox 2's the best-- mostly because they are the "original" of the second generation, but also because I find them to be the most legible. I myself own the black PVD, which I find to be the "purest" expression of the designer's ideas. I have been unhappy with several different straps, but have settled well with this one:
The first edition. As for the strap, you are sadly right. Try the Amvox III strap. I never found a better one for the II. ;) All the best, Tinker. Nicolas
