Nicolas (amanico) revisits the Jaeger-LeCoultre Amvox II DBS, a significant release from 2007 that introduced an open dial to the Amvox II line. His post, featuring personal photography and vintage advertisements, prompts a discussion on the aesthetic and functional differences between the original Amvox II and its DBS evolution. This exploration remains relevant for collectors interested in JLC's innovative approach to sports chronographs and their collaboration with Aston Martin.

Launched in the arena in 2007, along with the Extreme Lab One and the Duometre à Chronographe, the DBS is the second opus of the Amvox II, which surprised the owners of the Amvox II, for sure.

The DBS is an Amvox II with an open dial.

Some pictures....

Here with my Amvox II Platinum:

In great company, in the best winder I know:

The killer ad:

How do you prefer it? Plain or ope, the dial?

Best,

Nicolas

About the Jaeger LeCoultre Amvox2 Ref. AMVOX2

The Amvox2 represents Jaeger LeCoultre's approach to contemporary sports timing, offered here in the Steel Black series configuration. This 44mm reference positions itself as a substantial automatic chronograph within the Amvox2 collection, distinguished by its monochromatic steel and black dial treatment.

The 44mm steel case houses an automatic movement and features a black dial beneath sapphire crystal protection. Water resistance extends to 100 meters, while a fixed bezel completes the case architecture. The steel construction and automatic movement provide the mechanical foundation for this chronograph reference.

This Steel Black series Amvox2 appeals to collectors seeking a modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports chronograph with substantial wrist presence. The 44mm case diameter and black dial configuration offer a contemporary alternative within the Amvox2 range, providing automatic chronograph functionality in a steel sports watch format. The combination of size, materials, and dial treatment positions this reference for collectors focused on modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports complications.

To me the Amvox chronograph was a great line, I regret they did not pursue the route.

Thanks for this post. Difficult choice... I think that I could get the open dial of the Dbs which match better with my Amvox I... But I have to study before choosing... The first, the second, ... damned ! Best Ø

It was an exciting moment for me when I saw it for the first time. It is beautiful and uber cool evolution of the first generation. In the end, I found that it was too difficult to read chronograph counters and I preferred the DBS in photos more than in the metal. I returned to the AMVOX II through the first generation series and specifically the Black Concept, which remains my favorite version of this concept chronograph. Lovely to be reminded of the DBS and your amazing watch winder, my friend

I'd take either one in a heartbeat, but have a small preference for the open dial. M4

I generally prefer steel watches ... and the Dbs is made of this metal ... but I have a problem with the: polished case and brushed lugs ... This double texture disturbs me. In addition I would like to find an Amvox 2 which is an extension of my Amvox 1 alarm ... given the dial I found that the dbs was a continuation of the Amvox 1 while the first Amvox 2 is for me an iteration in rupture because, visually, the dial is not homogeneous but is made up of two very contrasting then, I like open dia
