One of my target, this year, was the Amvox III, as an Happy owner of the A I and II...
So, ok, on the pics, the A III is a nice watch, but the question was...Does this watch speak to me?
The answer is defintely...YES.

The 1st evident thing is the big and very pleasant contrast between the black ceramic case and this little touches of rose ( crown, hands, and tourbillon bridge).

Contrast that you also find on the dial, so the watch has an obvious coherence and harmony.

Then you begin to have a closer look at it...

The dial is an evocation of the Aston Martin radiator grids, as the bridge of the tourbillon, which is another echo to the Automobile world, or the 270 degrees center part of the dial, shared with the A I, and II...

Esthetic is a thing, horology is another awesome characteristic of this watch...

A nice tourbillon, with a GMT function, designed in a sporty way.
I have to admit that I was a bit surprised to see such an association, and that is the point that I wanted to check in Geneva, in live.
Would this presentation of the tourbillon be appealing for me, or disturbing?
Now, I have the answer, and I'm totally convinced about the assocaition of a tourbillon in a sporty ambiance.

A closer look at the Tourbillon, and its perfect finish...

The Case Back reveals the same qualities, of finish and esthetics...
Once again, as for the case and the dial, JLC played the card of the contrast, even for the design of the movement..

I like a lot the Rotor of the Extrem Lab, which adds a lot to the originality of the movement.
I appreciate the finish, too.
There are a lot of details to discover, to admire, which requires a lot of time to really appreciate.

Back now to the whole watch, this is indeed an Amvox, in its psirit, but also in its strong but refined presence.
This is this blend that makes me love the Amvoxes.
When I first saw it, I was thinking, as many of you, at the Extrem Lab...
The Extrem Lab has more a look of concept watch, IMO, as this one is more refined, and less innovative, of course.

What I tried to catch , on the last pics I will now post, is the presence and the strong look of this beast.
I'm once again, totally convinced.

Presence on the wrist, also...Not a big and vulgar watch, but comfortable, and light...A real great pleasure!

A last word about the strap...
I often said that the strap was the weak point on a JLC watch...
On this one, this is not true.
The strap is a mix of Cordura and Leather, the design is perfect for the A III, as it was for the A II DBS, and JLC had the good, the excellent idea to play, once again, the card of the contrast, as this black strap is fitted with a Rose Gold Folding Buckle..

.
So, I can say that there is no mistake in this watch, the concept of the Amvox, of an original, elegant, soprty watch is perfectly respected.
This will be a Hit, IMO.
Thanks you for reading!
Best.
Nicolas

your nice pics and report are great as usual. For me, I was really looking forward to seeing pics of this beast when I got the call from my AD prior to SIHH. He said pretty much that this is a MUST buy. He is familiar with what I look for in a watch and had thought that this would be a no brainer purchase for me. Having seen pretty much all the pics that I could find on this piece, I am a bit let down. I LOVE the ceramic case, the sporty strap, the inclusion of a tourbillon to the Amvox line. Ho

I really think that JLC have strayed away from the association with Aston Martin on the A-III. IMHO, the closest association in the Amvox line is the A-II, with the exposed red to represent the brake calipers and the other aesthetics such as the 270 degree dial to represent the dashboard dials. You mention the grid pattern on the dial of the A-III, which does not feature on an Aston Martin cars (the radiator grill is horizontal bars). Other than the same 270 degree dial as on the other Amvox pie

is not appealing watch for me somehow too chaotic and not so beautiful yes the strap is very nice but that is about it for me :0) it feels like they wanted to do something that will be worth the greatnest of AI & II appearance and charisma but in all that effort they burned it out Sorry to say but this is for me the greatest dissapointment from JLC after a while and yes I hoped that JLC will not succumd that Tourbillon everywhere and anyway fashion Best This message has been edited by Ares501 on

I'm not for this kind of esthetic...The sober is the nicer for me, a bit like you. But, on the pics, I found this piece quite appealing, I just wqanted to reserve my final comment after seeing it in the flesh, as the truth of the reality is much more strong, and sure too. The Red crown matches not only the tourbi bridge, but also the hands, so you have an harmonious contrast in Black and Red... The red touches are subtle, not massive. The design is appealing, as I said, strong but also elegant.

I have a different opinion, here... The front gril of an AM Car is designed not only with horizontal bars...I checked. Therefore, the philosophy of the Amvox watches is still here, luxury, sport, originality... I remember very well how people in general welcomed, with a lot of scepticism, the Amvox II. For them, the design was not appealing, they wondered where JLC wanted to go, etc, etc... But at the end, the Amvox II, some months later, was more than warmly welcomed, by not all the JLC fans, b

Always great to have all kind of reactions, here, as we can feed the discussion. Your point is strong, firm ,and defiinitive... In all the JLC watches, we can't love all, and this is more evident when you have to see how prolific is this brand. The nice point is that I'm sure that even if you don't like this A III, you'll find this year some watches that will speak strongly to you, as the number of new JLC watches is impressive, and the variety too. Stay tuned, my friend, we need a bit of additi
