amanico presents a detailed review of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calendar Disc, an often-overlooked vintage gem from the early 1950s. He highlights its innovative date display mechanism and elegant aesthetics, drawing comparisons to more famous JLC models while emphasizing its unique place in the brand's history.
Great documents! Will see if I have some more to share on this model... Best Blomman
As you said, a far more exclusive and rarer version of the calendar ! This one being also in such condition, it adds to the pleasure ! Regarding the dial variations for the JLC model, do you how many exist ? With the one on the leaflet (which definitely reminds us of an E 850) and from your watch, one can see two different ones already. Best karmin
.. for me 2777 totally unknown & unseen. Albeit for the other mentioned Triple Dates, I count myself very fortunate, to have found & cherish the White & Black Duo. (There is someone, who knows when & how.. ) Again, splendid pictorial, dear friend ! Thx & Best, hs PS: Just could not resist to chime in with my beloved Duo: Yin and Yang. - Every time I take them, it's for quite a while.. Simply love this Duo of TD's with teardrop lugs ! JLC at its best..
Lesser known fact 1) 1953: First, the Triple date moon phase are more famous fro the early versions with teardrop lugs... But other versions of lugs existed. Lesser known fact 2) 1953: The Calendar disk watch also came in square cases. Interesting to see this square case with a circular complication in the middle. Lesser known fact 3) 1953: The Calendar disk watch also came with "claw" lugs. Best Blomman
