Lately I have been drawn towards timepieces that are objects of art. It is therefore not surprising that I was attracted to watches featuring miniature enamel work.

I was lucky to have recently won through an auction the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso a eclipses "Voyages et Decouvertes" made in 2006 but in totally unworn condition. This watch was made in platinum (is therefore very heavy) with the following particulars:

Caliber: cal. 849, 19 jewels
Clasp: white gold JLC double deployant clasp
Dimensions: 29 mm width, 39.5 mm length

Let the pictures speak:

This model is made in very small quantities - the watch I acquired is numbered 1 out of a limited edition of 3.

The metal "shutters" are operated by a dedicated wheel on the side of the case at 2 o'clock, underneath which is the view of a sublime miniature creation depicting the Silk Road.

How would you like this model compared to the Caspar David Friedrich that I also lay my hands on recently?

These Reverso enamels are certainly among my favorite watches of all time.... Much appreciate your pictures! Sincere congratulations, Filip

The dial on the platinum piece is absolutely beautiful and I would prefer it to the more complex gold watch. Both scenes are beautiful and I noticed that the unworn platinum piece is one of three pieces which makes it quite special. Well done my friend!

I tried also to bid for the Number 2 Tourbillon Platinum (1/500) but was narrowly outbid. Now regretting....

I bid for the watch without holding it in my hand. It turns out better than I imagined...
