Patrick_y offers an exclusive look into Jaeger-LeCoultre's 'Golden Ratio Musical Show and 1931 Cinema Experience' in Los Angeles. His detailed review captures the essence of this celebrity-filled event, celebrating the Reverso's legacy. This article delves into the immersive brand experience and the broader implications for luxury watch marketing, as seen through the eyes of a seasoned collector.
The Maison, Jaeger LeCoultre, has created a small oasis in Los Angeles that transports you back in time to 1931, the birth year of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso...
From June 22nd through June 25th, please attend the exhibit at the Westfield Century City Plaza, where Jaeger-LeCoultre has erected a wonderful exhibition celebrating the history of the Reverso. Tickets are complimentary, just sign up for a reservation on the Jaeger-LeCoultre.com website.
A few WatchProSite members and I had the good fortune to attend a celebrity filled private event, on the evening of the 22nd of June for a private event consisting of a cocktail party and a private concert. The event of 200 international guests included watch collectors, some movie stars, some tv stars, famous athletes, music stars, music industry insiders, and three members of the press. Jaeger-LeCoultre CEO Catherine Rénier was also in attendance and gave an opening speech welcoming the guests.
The speech paved the way for British musician Tokio Myers, a winner of British Got Talent in 2017, part of a 28-head symphony. Imagine, 28-persons had to practice together for multiple days prior to put on this concert together! The audience was treated to two classically themed songs by the 28-person symphony and four modern-genre songs featuring Tokio Myers solo. The performance also consisted not only of an impressive music experience, but also an immersive water and light show!
Two other WatchProSite members really liked the concert, likening it Modern Art a polarizing topic where one either really likes a work of art or rather dislikes it. The two members concluded that they liked the piece and that they found it very interesting in a good way. One member even commented that the music felt dissected and like individual parts at the beginning of the song, and then pieced together like a complete watch movement towards the end of the song. I was there and I agree and echo with our members’ statements. I can’t add much else other than the fact that I’m not a music expert, I’ve never worked in music professionally, but as a classical musician for much of my younger and teenager years, I found the performance with the symphony portion extremely appealing! The entire performance (both the classical symphony portion and the modern solo act, I found moving and inspirational - and when combined with the water and light show, I found it to be a truly immersive and enveloping experience. Perhaps more important than my amateur opinion, are the opinions of the individuals of other music professionals - whom I overheard making very positive statements.
As always, you’re getting my opinions completely unbiased. I drove several hours (by electric car) to attend this event in Los Angeles and stayed overnight at a friend’s home before driving several hours the next day to get home! Jaeger-LeCoultre did not provide anything other than access to the event and complimentary parking at the event. Complimentary tickets are available to all whom register on JLC's website. I strongly urge all WatchProSite readers who live in the Southern California region to attend this incredible exhibition.

I'll experience it myself tomorrow evening. Thanks a bunch for the write-up Patrick! Cheers, Filip
As always, it's always a pleasure to see your post! Too bad you couldn't make it for the opening night!
Thanks for the pictures. All the best, Jon
with my own impressions........
Thanks for posting Jon! Always a pleasure to read your posts!
Remember to sign up for one of the watchmaking courses! And ask for a lot of chocolate at the coffee bar. The box is huge, but only has three tiny pieces of chocolate. I ate a whole box and it wasn't very satisfying. Must eat two or three boxes! Chocolate puts me in the Swiss mood to enjoy Swiss watches!
