Blomman Mr Blue shares the culmination of his 'White Week' with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Mariner E329, a watch he pursued for years. This article highlights the personal journey of acquiring a specific vintage reference, emphasizing the joy of finding a piece in exceptional condition and its significance within a collector's passion.
The watch I am preparing for tomorrow is a quite recent acquaintance for me, but very dear.
Why you ask?
This is a watch I have been hunting for several years.
The E 329 is not a 125 Jubilé collection watch (IMO), but very close related.
Presented in the same catalogue as the Jubilé collection, of course I NEED this watch!
They pop up here and there fairly often, but always with some problem...
Incorrect hands, re-painted dial, over poished case, price is not right...
Yea, you know how it is...
Then this one found its way to me, with help from a dear friend!
Which makes it even more joyful for me to wear!
Thank you, my friend!!!
So, tommorrow I am planning to...
... wear this...!
This one is the closest to NOS I ever seen when it comes to the E 329!
So, what's your plan for tomorrow?
Best
Blomman
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Mariner E329 is a notable vintage reference from the late 1950s, often associated with the brand's 125th Anniversary (Jubilé) collection due to its contemporary release and shared design language. It represents a period when Jaeger-LeCoultre was expanding its robust and water-resistant timepieces, offering a blend of elegant design and practical functionality.
This model typically features a self-winding movement, often the Caliber K880 or K881, known for its reliability. The case is commonly stainless steel, with a diameter around 34-36mm, and often presents a distinctive C-shape profile. Dials are frequently white or silver, with applied hour markers and a date aperture, protected by a plexiglass crystal.
The E329 holds relevance for collectors seeking well-preserved examples of mid-century Jaeger-LeCoultre watches that combine a classic aesthetic with a robust movement. Its connection to the Jubilé era and its relatively consistent availability, albeit often with condition issues, make it a persistent pursuit for those looking for original, unmolested pieces.

Hi That looks great - really like the inverted date ( white on black) , makes it stand out well. Cheers JML
But who cares? This date, the case and the dial are just superb. Totally Under appreciated. A Watch to discover, or to rediscover. Best, Nicolas.
Whew, what a super cool Jaeger!!!
Congrats! What is the case size?
