Nicolas (amanico) provides an initial look at the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Calendar from SIHH 2015, positioning it as an elegant middle ground between the MUT Moon 39 and the MUT Perpetual Calendar. His detailed observations on its design, dimensions, and movement offer a valuable first impression for collectors considering this refined timepiece.

For those who found that the MUT Moon 39 dial was a bit empty, the new Master Ultra Thin Calendar is a pleasant alternative.

Same 39 mm case,  9, 9 mm high, exactly like the MUT Moon 39 ( which is, once again, not ultra thin at all ), but not less elegant.

The automatic movement is the Cal 891/2-448 which beats at 28 800 vibrations per hour, offers an autonomy of 38 hours ( a tad short, though ) , and made of 275 pièces.

The case is in white gold. I am sure it would be interesting to have a steel version, with a black dial. But let's not spoil  our pleasure.

Indeed, we have a nicely profiled case, with a lot of class, and a superb dial, with a triple date configuration.

The treatment of the indexes and hands remind me the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual  Calendar decoration, in white gold.

One detail I would have liked to see: The date, in blue. It would have been nicer, I think.

Here are the live pictures:

A smart offer, between the MUT Moon 39 and the MUT Perpetual Calendar, don't you think so?

Best,

Nicolas

good! The range of selection has been widened.

but... Certainly go more interested in stainless steel ^^; Question for you, dial plate's eggshell like "mut ppc"??

Yes, in steel, even better, I agree. As for the dial, it is not eggshell, but white.

Thanks for your feedback, Penny! Nicolas

Indeed,quite interesting.. Q: what's the color of hour indices & hands- Black/dark grey ?

.. Maybe also there, dark blue might have been nice, probably (?).. Other than that, yet another classic to fill the little gap, as mentioned by you .. Interesting to me, how LGM does some rejuvenation to the classics with the smaller & thinner cases.. Finally, +1 on the idea of a black dialled one.. The latter might be tempting for me, I guess. Thx for the update & nice pics, as always Best, hs

Indexes and hands are grey, HS.

Here is an official picture: A black dial... Hmmmm... Like this one? I am a big fan of " Ultra Thin " cases which are very elegant. Best, Nicolas

Thx- Yes, these grey ones are interesting..Guess,not impossible that a ss-Version pops up

BTW: this black one/ teardrop of yours always amazes me, when shown : Lots of strong, but balanced appeal ! Designwise these were the hey-days of JLC with their Calendars, - a theme, that is redesigned & relived for quite some time now.. A nice sign of " loyalty" and perseverance, linking us with the past, but n a re-juvenated spirit.. Best, hs :) :)
