Team, 😊

As several of you might remember, one of the themes of my watch collecting has been the
group of Funky Memovox watches, mainly from the 70ies.

Thus, I have been thinking to share a view among some members of the MMV family,
which have accumulated over the years:
These are pieces from JLC/LeCoultre, a group of alarm watches which are still a big pleasure, when looking
or better wearing them.

- So I just would like to share a glimpse into this family of tic-tacs, which in a way are
almost unique ( well not quite, of course) and characteristic for JLC/LC.

Top (cross lies): LC 3072, E872; Bottom (cross) E871
Middle (from left): E855 black & E 855 white („Ebene“), E875s: blue/blue, white/blue & white/white („Speedbeat“)
Far right: E 861

Hope you liked a bit this peeking into the MMV box.. 😉

Best and have a good start into the new week,
hs

About the Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox Ref. 3072

The Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox reference 3072 is part of the "Funky Memovox" series from the 1970s, characterized by its distinctive case shapes and dial aesthetics that reflect the design trends of the era. This reference contributes to a lineage of alarm watches from the brand, known for their practical complication and varied stylistic interpretations over decades. It represents a period of experimentation in watch design, moving away from more traditional forms.

The reference 3072 typically features a cushion-shaped or tonneau-shaped case, often crafted from stainless steel. These cases house an automatic winding movement, likely from the 916 or 918 caliber family, which powers the timekeeping and the mechanical alarm function. The crystal is generally acrylic, consistent with watches of this period, providing a clear view of the dial.

For collectors, the Memovox 3072 appeals to those interested in vintage Jaeger LeCoultre pieces, particularly the more unconventional designs of the 1970s. It stands as an example of the brand's willingness to adapt its established alarm complication to contemporary fashion, offering a different aesthetic compared to earlier or later Memovox iterations. Its unique appearance makes it a notable piece within the broader Memovox family.

What a wonderful trip down memory lane. The funky Memovox watches from the 70s are some of the most characterful pieces JLC ever produced. Seeing them all together like this really shows the range of creativity that was happening during that era. Thank you for sharing this glimpse into your collection. Each one has so much personality. Love them… My fav are the 3072, E871 & 872…. The blue E 875 is also a very desirable watch A Polaris II and/or a snowdrop could be an interesting way to go ;-)
