Amanico, a Jaeger-LeCoultre moderator, shares his unique experience of test-driving various JLC watches provided by the Manufacture. This post offers an exclusive look into the process of 'feeling' watches like the Tribute To Reverso 1931 RED and the Duometre UTT, providing insights into how these hands-on experiences inform his editorial contributions and deepen his appreciation for the brand's diverse offerings.
From time to time, the Manufacture let me play with some of their watches, to allow me to " feel " them better.
Here are the watches which I borrowed from JLC.
- Summer 2012: Tribute To Reverso 1931 RED ( Italy / Slovenia / Croatia ) :
- March 2013: Duometre UTT ( Los Angeles / Las Vegas ) :
- Summer 2013: Deep Sea Chronograph Cermet ( Italy ) :
June 2014: Duometre à Quantième Lunaire Enamel ( Singapore / Hong Kong ) :
The watches which impressed me the most were the Quantieme Lunaire Enamel and the UTT. The UTT is a great travel Watch, and not olny because of its complication. The presence on the wrist is superb, its character is very addictive.
The QL Enamel is a pure jewel. The enamel dial is to die for.
These 2 Duometre were a pain to give them back to the Manufacture... I am still suffering!
The Reverso Red is a cool Watch. I had a lot of fun with it, and if I was not so obsessed by the idea of funding a Duometre, I would have bought one.
The Deep Sea Chrono Cermet was a cool companion, but in total honesty, I suffered much less than it was the case with the three others, when I had to give it back.
I am currently negociating with the Manufacture for a new on the wrist review, for this summer... A Watch which I didn't like when it was unveiled, and which I learned to appreciate.
Aaah, the tough life of a JLC Moderator...
A guess on the next one?
Best,
Nicolas
