Very cool! Circa 1934-5? The first sub seconds came out in '34 I believe. And on the original triple gadroon case so very early indeed! Congrats now grab your polo mallet and enjoy!
great way to describe that gorgeous piece . Cheers, Filip
Well, you are not the last who said that!
Well, not exactly: the watch debuted at the 2013 SIHH and was produced only for 2-3 years, without being limited. The origins came from the first Reversos of the 30’ies, that’s true of course! Note that the dial has only a ‘Reverso’ writing, like at the first models, and the cathedral hands of the little second are also inspired from the era of the 30’ies… It is the first duoface model which has the larger ultra thin case!
I totally agree with the opinions regarding the strap: it is perfect for the watch! I tried a brown Casa Fagliano style strap but I wasn’t convinced with the result: Not bad but couldn’t hold the competition with the black one, which came original with the watch!
I have the exact same Duoface and the strap it came with looks like that. (Btw, I think you have impeccable taste! Heh heh) You’ve just inspired me to dig mine up—I don’t recall having had it on my wrist in 2022! So thanks for posting yours. Incidentally, do you think there’s something not quite right with how the day-night indicator on the back was executed? I’m looking for someone to convince me I’m the only one looking at it wrong, haha
