Amanico introduces the Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Celestial in red gold, a striking new iteration unveiled at SIHH 2015. This article explores the watch's aesthetic appeal, particularly its celestial dial, and compares it to the earlier white gold version, highlighting its poetic design.

In 2013, Jaeger Lecoultre unveiled the Rendez Vous Celestial, in white gold. The dial was guilloched blue, with blue aventurine for the map of the sky.

This year, Jaeger Lecoultre comes back to this watch but in a red version. Rose gold, red guilloched dial and red aventurine.

The movement is common to these 2 versions, the Cal 809/1, offering an autonomy of 40 hours, and beating at the pace of 28 800 vibrations per hour.

The case has the same diameter: 37, 5 mm and is water resistant to 5 bars.

That Rendez Vous displays the time, the " Rendez Vous " reminder, as every  Rendez Vous version, and a sky map linked to a zodiacal calendar.

I have to say that it is one of the pièces which impressed me a lot, this year. Not that I turned bling or show off, but the part of poetry in this piece moves me.

If with the Blue unveiled 2 years sooner, you have a watch for the Day, we could consider that with the Red introduced this year, we have a watch for the night, as this red version is an evocation to the Sunset.

I am moved because I am totally in love with these sky maps. Not that it is usefel, unless you are an astronomist, but the representation of the sky, sometimes called " Celestial " deeply fascinates me.

I am madly looking forward to see a version for men. Just with the map of the sky, in an elegant case, not too big, focusing on this complication, and obtainable, which was not the case of the sublime Hybris Artistica version.

Looking forward to reading your comments and thoughts,

Best,

Nicolas

and you're right: some kind of men's version would be nice, say, in a 40mm w/o diamonds and "masculinized." And in the $40k range, since there would be no diamonds. -Dean

2 years on and the major flaw hasn't been fixed. the watch in the picture is supposed to show 10:10, still, the hour hand is already pointy towards 11. a designer needs to be fired. form and function
