Beverly Hills, California

A little while back, Jaeger-LeCoultre announced a collaboration with renowned artist Mr. Guillermo Ceniceros.  Known respectfully as 'The Maestro', Mr. Ceniceros hails from Mexico City and has created some of the most spectacular work of fine arts in various mediums.  Recipient of the SEP Painting Prize, Mr. Ceniceros was the only Mexican national nominated for the prestigious World Art Competition in 1999.  The Maestro's art can found throughout Mexico City and featured in various public and governmental buildings.  Mr. Ceniceros mural was recently the highlight for the bicentennial of the Mexican Independence and can be viewed at the Chamber of Deputies, Mexico City.  Team PuristSPro was fortunate to have the pleasure to an exclusive interview with The Maestro's son and we had insight to the vision of the famed artist regarding the limited edition piece ( jlc.watchprosite.com )

Flash forward a few short months later, we were invited to an intimate event for the delivery of these beautiful pieces.  Fortunately the traffic was light in L.A. and we arrived early at the JLC Beverly Hills boutique.  A few eager PuristS were already there to checkout the Reverso Ceniceros Edition.  We were greeted by Nicola who was sharing his expertise and history of the JLC Reverso.

Not long after, more guests arrive to see the special piece.  Here we have twins who are huge fans of JLC looking over the finer points of the Reverso.  It was great meeting you two!

Another enthusiast with a strong passion for the JLC brand speaks with Nicola about a beautiful rose gold Reverso.

The JLC Reverso Ceniceros Edition is available in two metals, Rose Gold and Stainless Steel, here a guest examines the rose gold variant up close.  While the rose gold piece has a hand engraved motif, the stainless steel has a enamel.  Both limited edition pieces come on a strap with the respective metal folding deployant clasp.  This elegant piece is based on a Grande Reverso 976 with a classic dial and art deco numerals.

With each JLC Ceniceros Reverso, the hardcover Guillermo Ceniceros “Setenta Anos” book is included. The book chronicles the artwork of Mr. Ceniceros, plus a Special Edition brochure about this wonderful project, and lastly a signed and numbered lithograph displaying the concept art that was used for the engraving of each piece.

One of the highlights of the event was to be able to see the first prototype of the Ceniceros edition. The Maestro had personally hand engraved art onto a stainless steel JLC watch. It actually looks great with the blue strap! One of the key features is the artist's concept of duality and this was evident from the start. You can see the design when the Reverso is flipped over: *** video is optimized for 1080p High Definition 3D viewing, regular 2D HD can be enable in youtube settings *** If you

As the finished pieces are announced, the JLC staff explains the final product details and improvements over the prototype. You can see from the stainless steel model, the lacquered engraving is a deeper brown that closely resembles the original artwork created by Mr. Ceniceros. The prototype concept shown in 2011 was lighter in color but the final design has a nice rich shade to it. Who are involved in the project, and to Guillermo's father, El Maestro " who gave birth to another piece of Art, and a very nice one. To try to sum it in the best possible way, I would say that what I like a lot with this watch is that it is not only a nice one, but it is also and first of all a friendship watch, which will certainly create some strong links among its owners. Bravo, All. Nicolas, really moved.

I'm very happy for all the owners of this great commemorative piece, and to the Maestro's son and those who were able to work with JLC on bringing the watch to life. Cheers, Daos

Mr. Ceniceros idea of 'duality' integrated with the timeless Reverso is one of those perfect matches, it's a project thats meant to be. Thumbs up to Jerome Lambert's passion and vision in this project, this piece is a winner on so many levels. Congrats to The Maestro! -MW
