MTR shares his renewed appreciation for the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande GMT in rose gold after a period of not wearing it. He details the watch's aesthetic appeal, useful complications, and the impressive Caliber 878 movement, highlighting its versatility and wrist presence.

Not worn for quite a few months....
And now finally on my wrist again.

I can't explain or even unterstand how I could withstand wearing my JLC Reverso Grande GMT for such a long time.

A mix of beauty, useful complications and great wrist presence. And in the meantime it represents my one and only watch with a case in RG.

The Reverso Grande GMT offers an intriguing (shaped!) manual wound inhouse movement (Cal. 878, 276 parts) with a PR of 8 days. It is packed with many very useful features that make true sense to me.

The front dial has a beautiful silver guilloche dial, blue hands, a large date display, small seconds and a day/night display that shows golden sunrays (day indicator) or a field of stars (night indicator).

The rear dial is black, has luminous hands and indices and features a second timezone settable by +/- pushers, a separate 24 hour / day & night display and a PR indicator.

This JLC is a very nice companion to start working again after some relaxing warm, sunny days in Croatia.

Thanks for reading, Thomas

Thank you!! It\'s my one and only Reverso. So I have no opportunity to compare with others. But it has proven extremely reliable and accurate. And although the case isn\'t curved like those of GP or Moser it feels very comfortable on the wrist. I just find the RG alloy is rather soft. I could tell a funny story behind... Do you have a wrist shot of your steel version? Together with the bracelet it must be a completely different look. Best, Thomas

I took this watch to many places - from the desert in Dubai to winter skiing in Austria. Never faced any problems. Although I try to avoid intensive water contact ;-) Best, Thomas

Yes, I think the steel version is more versatile. I chose the RG version for its "romantic" touch but usually don\'t wear it in business meetings since it shows quite a lot of gold. AFAIK the Grande Reverso GMT is out of production? Best, Thomas
