Fernando's 'Incoming' thread from 2016 captures the thrill of acquiring a rare Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Taille with a unique blue dial, purchased sight unseen from an online luxury watch market. His post details the anticipation and eventual satisfaction of receiving a watch he hadn't encountered before, sparking community interest in its distinctive features and origin.
We see a lot of them and they are usually interesting and arouse our curiosity; especially during the (strip-tease) box unveiling process. I can't remember doing something like that myself, as I rarely purchase online and thus there are no anxious moments in anticipation of what I might find in the box.
However, last week I was browsing a well know luxury watch market site out of boredom and came across a watch with a dial I hadn't seen before. At first I was a bit sceptical, having not seen it anywhere else. A little search unveiled it was indeed genuine and was sold for a few years in early 2000 with a limited production run. To cut it short, after corresponding with the seller, who inspired much confidence, I went ahead with the purchase. It is my first for 2016 and maybe I went about it in a somewhat risky way, however, the day of reckoning was today when the parcel arrived from the courier!
Here's what I found:
After tracking it online, it was quite a thrill to hear the courier pull up and ring the doorbell.
Well here it is - A Reverso! It's a Grande Taille which I find to be the most accommodating for my wrist (42x26mm) and powered by cal. 822.
Blued hands with blue numerals etc. The seller also threw in a new JLC croco strap as a gift (there are still some good people around
).
Strapped to my wrist as I type.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers

I always thought those were cool. Congratulations! Best E.
What is the story behind this special edition? Is \'Latitude\' something special like a brand? Best, Etienne
Good catch and there is something to unpacking the box and revealing the surprise inside, isn\'t there?
I'm hoping someone can enlighten us as to the Latitude name. The other one as in the blue dial ? Yes please.
