It is funny to see how life is made...

For years I didn't see a Soixantieme in the flesh, and since I saw one at the Heritage Gallery, some 8 years ago, I cross its way, quite often.

I said it before, but at the begininning, I was not very impressed by this watch,  due to the particular, not to say original layout of the dial.

Since I started to better appreciate it.

The dial...

The 14 Kt Gold movement:

While its sisters ( Tourbillon, Minute Repeater, Chronograph, Perpetual Calendar and Geographique ) are  more sophisiticated, the 60eme is the one which started all, at least the modern history of this icon.

An important watch.

Nicolas, Thank you for highlighting this important but rarely discussed piece. Your photos truly express the charm and emotional warmth of the rose gold GT case in a fashion that conveys the appeal of the "Sacred Six." The choice of rose gold endows these rather petite watches with great character and wrist presence despite their small size. .. Somehow the Soixantième is not my fav of this family: Really like all the backsides, as well. On a humble personal note, I like the Sun& Moon more, sadly discontinued for a while now.. From the "more elaborate" others, my pic still would be the R. Geographic, also as the others have been & still are, unobtainable for me.. Thx for this lovely & stimulating share, still love the whole family, with slight differences in realistic attraction.. Best, with these 0,02 cents, hs

And yes, it has a lot of charm. Strangely, I didn't pay attention to it, in the early 90ies... I started to understand it much later. A perfect example of how " charmful " can a Watch be, despite ( or thanks to ) its unbalanced dial. Best, Tim. Nicolas

It is a complex Watch. Its unbalanced dial can disorient a bit. Before you understand it is a big part of its charm and beauty. It is a bit like Art. Some pièces speak loud to you, others don't. Thanks for your feedback, my friend. Best, Nicolas

it began the Reverso Complications, not just "The Sacred Six," but ALL complications in production (we can't count the 1937 QP prototype): the Reverso Day/Date, etc. -Dean
