Reverso Squadra World Time " Polo Fields"...

Here is another JLC new watch we'll see very soon in the flesh at Geneva...

For the moment, we only have the press files and pics about this watch.

So let me introduce it to you.

You all remember the Squadra WT presented in 2006, and delayed to solve all the problems such a watch could present...

Now, we'll see the Polo Fields...

This is quite the same watch, as this Squadra is also a Chronograph World Time.
But the changes are important, esthetically speaking, as the functions and the caliber
are exactly the same ( Caliber 753: 28 800 vibrations per hour, 39 jewels, 366 parts, automatic winding )...

The Squadra Polo Fields is the First Reverso which receives a ceramic case, on a Titanium or Rose Gold carrier.

The composition of the ceramic is in fact a blend of zirconium oxide and yttrium, which is then heated to 2500 degrees, and finally polished with fine diamond powder.

The interesting thing is that JLC changed some of the towns of the world for some names of the major Polo Grounds, like Palermo instead of Buenos Aires, Sotogrande for Madrid etc...
For a Polo Watch, it's quite well thought!

As you can notice it on this pic, the center of the World time Dial is open, which allows the owner to admire the caliber.Another good idea, I find.
It also gives an interesting look to this watch, as I always loved this verso side, more maybe than the recto.

The Recto side has a more techincal look thant the previous model...The Black is omnipresent, with some light touches of white, maybe a lilltle austere, but it's a matter of taste...

The Strap is a rubber articulated one, like on the first Squadra Chrono WT, and even if very well built, not my favourite for this one, but I'm not a " Bracelet" guy...

A last word on the 2 versions offerend for this watch.

The Titanium/ Ceramic one, as shown on the last 2 pics, is an interesting combo, IMHO, sober , class, even elegant...This version is not launched in a Limited Edition, at the contrary of the Rose Gold.

For the moment, I don't have any pics of this last version, but I'm curious, very curious to see it, as I think that this should maybe be the nicest of these 2...

And I'm not a colored gold guy, but I think that the contrast between the rose Gold carrier, and the ceramic case may be very interesting, giving to this watch a nice warmth.
And the dial, on the rose gold WT, may also be different...

A last precision: The Rose Gold is a LE of 500 pieces.

And a last word...This won't be a watch for little or medium wrists...as the size is exactly the same than the "normal" Squadra WT, or the Triptyque...Very big.

Hope you enjoy this quick review, and we'll update it as soon as we get or take the pics of the watch "in vivo".

Best.
Nicolas

Hi Nicolas, Thank you for your presentation of this new watch. As you I'm tempted to see the pink gold version. In fact unlike you I'm a pink gold man so this may be a nice combo for me, unless we get to see another black watch with pink gold themes. After seeing what is already out and knowng that there is more to come at the SIHH I'm sure it is going to be a great year for Jaeger-LeCoultre! Dje

i think it looks ok.. never a fan of the two tone reverso's with ceramic lugs and back plate.. i would wear it over an audemars or a tourbillon anyday.

Not crazy about the bracelet though. A nice rubber strap would fit it better IMHO.

My first reaction to JLC getting a ceremic cased watch was.... "Oh no... why a ceremic case?". But seeing this i must admit the design wise it's a complete succes IMHO!
