The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Small Seconds, particularly its blue and burgundy dial variants, sparked considerable discussion among collectors. TheWindingStem's original post delves into the nuanced appeal of both colors, highlighting the blue as a 'safe' yet stunning option and the burgundy as a rare, era-appropriate choice with a unique matte finish. His inquiry seeks community insights and real-world photos to help navigate this compelling aesthetic dilemma.

Happy Sunday everyone!

I know this has probably been discussed before but tastes and opinions change, especially that the burgundy was the star of the JLC 2019 SIHH offering. Also many haven’t had the chance to see it in person as it quickly sold out and is boutique exclusive.

I personally like the blue A LOT - it’s a safe option and the way they made the dial is stunning. I bought it and enjoyed it.

I only got to see the burgundy one and for 10 mins - With the Burgundy,I have this love/hate relationship- I like the fact that Burgundy is rarely used as a dial colour and I find the matte look to be very attractive especially if we change the straps to something that contrasts. I also feel the colour is more era-appropriate if that makes sense?

I’m interested in hearing what people here think and wondering if anyone would be kind enough to share pictures of their burgundy dial under different lighting!

Thank you!

Moe

and it really depends how the light catches the dial. A fellow purist posted his burgundy yesterday which appeared like a dark burgundy and I immediately asked my AD if it was a new watch as the colour looked different!

More unique and as a matter of personal taste I was always drawn to burgundy dial even if I have yet to own one! Either one though look amazing

I am very tempted by the Blue that you showed in the photo but I already have another Blue reverso from previous years. I ordered the Burgundy pretty quickly as I love the colour! Like the blue you can have many shades depending on lighting 😄👍 Best of luck and health !

I tried both. I love blue, it's one of my favorite colors and I am at peace with the purple-ish tones of the blue dial but I would choose burgundy purely based on legibility and ease of telling time. I find it more difficult to read time with the blue dial, it seems to reflect too much light in some conditions. Good luck with your decision!

So many blue watches around these days. The Burgundy is so special ….

is one of the best, always a favorite. The numerals, guilloche and enamel work at perfect. Now that I see it again, it sort of looks like what they are doing on the MUT line- guilloche with blue enamel.
