Tonight, I have the good fortune to be invited by JLC's global CEO, Mr Daniel Riedo to attend their cocktail party and dinner for JLC collectors, to celebrate the grand opening of their flagship boutique in Singapore, ION shopping mall. This is the second JLC boutique in Singapore, the first being at Marina Bay Sands Singapore.
Before the boutique's opening ceremony, guests gathered for a pre-dinner cocktail party. I met Mr Daniel Riedo for the first time and had a friendly chat with him. Very glad he could come all the way to Singapore to meet up with JLC collectors here.
Also had a great time catching up with several JLC Singapore collectors, amongst them many PuristS in our community
Of course, it was great to catch up with the wonderful JLC staff as well, notably the ever funny and friendly Alexis, MD of JLC APAC. It is always nice to catch up with him about our JLC moderator, Nicolas' visit to Singapore and HK lol.
Such gatherings cannot be without... taking wristshots and sharing our passion for JLC. Some photos here to share. Very diverse set of JLC watches seen here in the wild, showcasing the diversity and history of this great maison.
Soon it was time for the opening ceremony. JLC invited a well loved and respected Singaporean singer, Kit Chan, as our special guest for tonight. Alexis welcomed us for the event and the ceremonies began. A lion dance troupe was invited to bring good fortune and business to the boutique as well. Many guests were impressed with the opening ceremony tonight, especially the special lighting effects on the door of the boutique to mark its grand opening!
We were then invited to enter the boutique to look at the watches on display. It has a larger floor area than the JLC boutique at Marina Bay Sands and look pretty grand! The VIP room was smaller though. Overall a grand yet cosy boutique here. I like it!

I came for the event double wristed today lol. With my grand Reverso Blue and Master Ultra Thin Perpetual today. Both amongst my favorite watches in my collection
Soon we proceeded to our dinner place. There was a nicely set up hallway leading to the dinner area with nice portraits of certain JLC novelties. Very impressive - I took some photos to share here.
In the dinner venue, we were all very excited to see some of the SIHH 2015 novelties on display! I believe we in Singapore are the first to see them since SIHH 2015!
The Master Calendar Meteorite in steel and rose gold were on display. Now I finally could see the beauty and uniqueness of these dials. Each dial is different in shades of grey and patterns! Very interesting to use celestial bodies to create dials! Between the 2 , I slightly prefer the steel version as the meteor dial has a lighter tone of grey and somehow brings our the watch more.
I also saw the much talked about new Master Ultra Thin moon 39 with Black dial in steel and in a boutique special edition in rose gold and brown dial. Between these 2, I prefer the rose gold version. The RG version also has the JLC logo in gold (I couldn't see clearly is it an applied logo but it sure looks great). The brown/grey dial is very special looking too! I like this one alot and hope to be able to handle it soon.
The new Rendezvous Celestial Red Avnturine was also on display. Very impressive piece and some of the lady guests feedback such a timepiece is what they really like. Someone red is more popular than blue dials when I chatted with of the lady guests.
Not all the novelties were here (eg the new WG boutique edition Reverso with central sweeping seconds was missing) but I was happy enough to be able to see these novelties so soon! There will be another event tomorrow and hopefully I can share more pictures up close (tonight everything is in the glass displays).

I saw the place, when in SG... It is great to see it finally! It seems that you had a blast, which is not surprising, knowing Alexis Delaporte and the SG Team. Good that you had the opportunity to meet Daniel Riedo, and to have a chat with him. Well, a great moment. Too bad you couldn't see the whole 2015 collection.
