Many of you , as I suppose, will have read Nicolas 's superb post about the Jaeger Vintage Chronographs, as well as the JLC & LC Vintage Chronos, alias " the Shark" Here is the link to Nicolas' very nice post, explaining some of the background: jlc.watchprosite.com Here a nice en face view o
)
These pieces have a strong character, but still a stylish personality, augmented
by a nice case with pronounced lugs and a very nice appearance on the wrist.
Some time ago, thanks to a friendly hint of a very good friend, ( who already
owned the LeCoultre version, I always had admired ), I was lucky to find one myself
Interestingly, his was consistent with the old catalogs, with showed 2 variants :
a ) the World Time ( WT) bezel, Ref 2643/2 vs
b) another version coming with a minute bezel. ( ref 2643/1)
Both of course on the outer circumference of the dial, had the usual
Tachymetre scale on the dial.

 LC- version - with a minutes / hour bezel - Ref 2643/1 ( credit : Nicolas post))

Therefore I was looking for another, more correct bezel.
WT I liked better, although it is much more an indication, than to be
used in the real, as it is pretty cluttered with the city names
in three concentric indications circles.
Funny somehow, as the whole watch was initially devised as a diving Chrono,
were a WT bezel would be an exception, mostly
But it gives the watch a smoother outlook, a somehow savvy & smart face, I found..
Luckily, through a post, where I had shown my " atypical" one, a kind fellow Purist
( you-know-who- you- are) contacted me and in fact, he luckily had a NOS WT - bezel for me.
What a nice occasion !

After having received the bezel, I just wanted to share with you here the little metamorphosis
of my "Shark", ending up now, what is the correct bezel, one of the typical variants for the 2643

Hope I did not bore you, and you liked a bit the little surgery, which resulted now
Best, hs
As I told you, I never saw this insert of yours before, and doubt it is the right one for the Shark. But now, your Shark is absolutely and 100% undisputable. Bravo! Best, and thanks for this post. Nicolas
As you will remember, you kindly had an Instrumental role, with your advice and hint . And your post(s) confirmed to me the authenticity of only 2 versions, where I was liking the WT more maybe, as it renders a smarter, savvier look Therefore, one more time my sincere thanks to you ! :) :) Nice to share this model with you, as well . My very best for the start into a new week, Kind personal regards, hs
Congrats, my friend! :) The new inlay looks great! The vintage JLC - another theme I should start look into.... Best Blomman
.. in fact restored the 2346/2 Vintage Chrono to its destined "glory". And yes, the JLC vintage theme (also for Chronos) with its variants is a veery deep canyon.. But think, my friend .. Take your Memovox theme, just to name one of yours, that's an abyss, you also are exploring and are so successfully mastering :) As I know you: - Once you decided to do it, you CAN do it... Best, and have a very good week , hs
Not 100% certain it would indeed fit, I'm more than happy it brought your Shark back to an original and perfect condition and makes you a proud owner. Cheers my friend! Ilja
I haven't finished the Memovox theme.... Yet... If even possible... I start to suspect that it is a endless theme! ;) And I do have some other themes to close aswell before going into chronographs... Like the 125 Jubile collection... Still miss a few... :( But, to be honest - if I ever go down the Chronograph road... I am not sure IF it will be with JLC... As I like a challange - maybe Lemaina..? That would be a BIG challange! :) Best, my friend Blomman
