Amanico introduces the Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 London Flagship Special Edition, celebrating the opening of JLC's new London boutique. He highlights the watch's deep green lacquered dial and explores the potential inspiration behind this 'So British' color choice, from the English countryside to classic British Racing Green.

Jaeger Lecoultre celebrated the new londonian flagship with a new Reverso.

The new London JLC Boutique:

The case, you well know it, it is the one from the TT Reverso 1931, Black or Red. Should I have to remind you the dimenions?

Ok, ok, for those who lost track, it is 46, 8 mm big, 27, 4 m large, and 7, 27 mm high.

The dial makes it all, here. A deep green and lacquered one. With applied markers.

Green, to quote Jaeger Lecoultre, like the English countryside. I Wonder why... Because the rains falls so much in abundance that the grass is so green?

No, that could not be the reason.  wink

I prefer another explanation: The famous British Green Racing... A sporty evocation, like the Reverso, which is, as you know, strongly linked to Polo.

If you are a fan of vintage cars, you may have in mind some legendary sports cars, which came with this color, such as the maginficient Jaguar E Type, or some Lotus.

So British!

OR... Did they think that I needed a Watch to match with my car?

Tssss, bad boys, bad boys...  smile

British also in its verso side... With an engraving of the Palace of Westminster and Big Ben.

You will certainly be happy to know that the movement is the Cal 822, a manual winding one. Certainly one of the last Grande Reverso to house it.

Another great news...The case is in steel.

The bad news? It is limited to 26 pieces. So, you'd better hurry, or you will end... Green with envy.

Best,

Nicolas

The engraving is not against or in favor of this Watch, to be honest. I see the link with the London Boutique, of course, but without, it would have been good as well. Best, Nicolas

Taking a simple Reverso model is quite nice as a base for these events. I'm just wondering after the blue, red, chrocolate and now green, if JLC is not using a little too much the "colored dial" trick. In the mean time, it must look very nice in the metal and remains sober (maybe I would have chosen something else for the engravement though, I'll never wear it on this side because of that). Congratz to JLC for their new important flagship store and thanks for sharing Nicolas! Cheers, Mark

Is ths design a true British racing green? The shots look like the green is way off from our favorite car color. I love th engraving. Nicely done. Retail same as a Ciencieros? Best Joe
