A. Lange & Söhne's Richard Lange Pour Le Mérite in rose gold, a limited edition of 200 pieces, is celebrated by amanico for its horological significance and aesthetic appeal. This article revisits the 2009 launch, highlighting the watch's chain and fusée movement, 40.5mm case, and sublime enamel dial, as captured through amanico's lens during a recent encounter.

When our dear Tactictac came for a lunch past week, he brought with him this delicious Richard Lange Pour Le Mérite in rose gold.

Let's recall that this piece was launched in 2009 in a limited edition of 200 pieces in rose gold, 50 pieces in platinum, and strangely, in 2016, in a limited edition of 218 watches in white gold with a black dial which is not in enamel. This last one being the only one to not have an enamel dial, to be clear...

I remember the unveiling of that watch very well, in Paris, at the Meurice, in December 2008. We were a bunch of privileged people to discover it, Fx and myself.

The interest of this watch? Horologically, a Chain and Fusée movement, and aesthetically, a 40, 5 mm case whose height is not too important ( 10, 7 mm ), without forgetting a sublime enamel dial.

A winning cocktail.

Needless to say that we were under the charm... And we still are! Even if personally, I prefer the platinum, for the density of the metal, and for its irresistible ( to me, at least ) cold appeal.

Some pictures, as announced:

Thanks to Tactictac for letting me play with this marvel.

Best,

Nicolas

I just wish it was 38.5 mm's vs 40.5 mm's, if that were the case the watch would be perfect for me. With that being said, I could handle 40.5!!! Tony

especially with the 38.5mm size! Looking at the movement and the bezel surrounding it, I believe it could have been done but the details may have had to be sacrificed.

I have had the watch on my wrist before. Your right Nicolas, there doesn't appear to be much difference vs the 38.5 mm Lange 1 MP when you look at them both on my wrist. Tony
