The other day, I had a catch-up coffee with my AD. Except he had run out of coffee so we had tea. To compensate he brought out a trio of very nice watches.

I went in well dressed with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Amvox 2 - but left with another watch on my wrist.

The first one I picked up was the 1815 Thin Honeygold ‘Homage to F. A. Lange’. A model designed in celebration of 175 years of Lange production in Glashütte.

Next up a Patek Annual Calendar in steel on a steel bracelet. A pretty but very shiny watch.

I also got to try the more traditional white gold model on a leather strap. A beautiful watch with a classic look and a very well designed case.

I had not been planning on actually buying something but the combination of honeygold, the enamel dial, the special decorations on the movement won me over. This beauty went home with me.

The thinness of the movement has led to more wheels being visible than normal for a Lange watch.

The dial in enamel is matched by numbers and the classic 1815 railroad tracks in grey.

It makes for an interesting contrast to my 2nd generation 1815. I always found the original to be very simple and German in its look but Lange managed to make the design even simpler with the Thin.

About the Jaeger LeCoultre Amvox2 Ref. AMVOX2

The Amvox2 represents Jaeger LeCoultre's approach to contemporary sports timing, offered here in the Steel Black series configuration. This 44mm reference positions itself as a substantial automatic chronograph within the Amvox2 collection, distinguished by its monochromatic steel and black dial treatment.

The 44mm steel case houses an automatic movement and features a black dial beneath sapphire crystal protection. Water resistance extends to 100 meters, while a fixed bezel completes the case architecture. The steel construction and automatic movement provide the mechanical foundation for this chronograph reference.

This Steel Black series Amvox2 appeals to collectors seeking a modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports chronograph with substantial wrist presence. The 44mm case diameter and black dial configuration offer a contemporary alternative within the Amvox2 range, providing automatic chronograph functionality in a steel sports watch format. The combination of size, materials, and dial treatment positions this reference for collectors focused on modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports complications.

And it’s a nice compliment to your 1815. If the anniversary piece had a sub seconds (like your existing 1815) would you have bought it?

The honeygold and the thinness were probably what closed the sale. But I would probably have hesitated if it had looked more like the one I already had. Good point! Claus

The owner of the AD did not know they had it either. But I do realize that I got lucky. Claus
