To be frank with you, at the beginning of 2016, I couldn't expect that this year would be so busy. Of course, Lange & Söhne is my fav brand and I know that a Lange year always contains some activity but when I look back these last months I realized that the Manufacture from Saxony (and of course

To be frank with you, at the beginning of 2016, I couldn't expect that this year would be so busy. Of course, Lange & Söhne is my fav brand and I know that a Lange year always contains some activity but when I look back these last months I realized that the Manufacture from Saxony (and of course its watches!) accompanied me in a lot of great events.

Let's be clear: 2016 wasn't a very good year for me except for the topics related to watches. And we realize in these circumstances that our passion plays a very important role. It is a kind of relief, of support. It is not the most important thing in life for sure but I can't imagine my life without this passion. I'm more and more convinced about that especially when I browse these 2016 milestones. I propose you to discover them again in this wrap-up topic.

January: SIHH and the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds

Since the SIHH dates moved to January, we know that the horological year starts quickly and with the good rhythm! The first thing I do when I arrive at the Salon on Monday morning is to have a look at the Lange windows to get an overview of the novelties. If the superlative watch of the year was obviously the Datograph Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon, the star of the show for me and for many others was without any doubt the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds. And the review explains these feelings:

February: the Saxonia Moonphase and my fifth Lange!

The SIHH offered several interesting Lange novelties but when it comes to a more simple and I would say, more affordable watch, the Saxonia Moonphase was a clear winner. I was seduced by its balance and its classic beauty:

But speaking about watches is nice and fun but wearing and collecting them is even better! And during the same month, I became the proud owner of my 5th Lange watch, the Richard Lange boutique edition. A watch for connoisseur due to specific approach and its understatement.

March, April: let's consider it is the Baselworld parenthesis!

May: Concorso d'Eleganza

I know, it is a privilege. I attended the Concorso d'Eleganza for the second time. The perfect way to wear the Richard Lange boutique edition with the Lange team in a beautiful scenery... these 3 days in Italy were my best horological moment in 2016 and maybe in my whole life. The organization was perfect and I have my mind full of wonderdul souvenirs. How can I say thank to the Lange team?

June: the Saxonia Thin 37mm

All the novelties of the year are not unveiled at the SIHH. The brands keep some good surprises to occupy the media field even during the quieter moments. This Saxonia Thin 37mm was not surprising in terms of design but its more balanced size and its attractive price made it appealing.

July: the Saxonia Terra Braun

Another novelty presented out of the context of the SIHH was the Saxonia Terra Braun. It offered a different dial colour but to be honest, this watch was not the highlight of the year.

August: the Hausmann boutique in Rome

Every year, I spend 3 weeks of holidays in Rome. So if at the beginning it was for me a true pause, even for the topics related to watches, I have become more and more involved in the horological activity of the Eternal City. And this year, I decided to have a close look at the Lange offer at the Hausmann boutique... which is an institution in Rome!

October, a very busy month: the Tourbillon exhibition at the boutique in Paris, the visit of the boutique in Lisbon and the Lange One Timezone Honey Gold

This exhibition was a great idea because it gave the proof of the wide diversity of the Tourbillon offer from Lange. It also gave me the opportunity to see again some rare pieces from the past. I really enjoyed this event.

When I travel in big cities, I always try to visit the Lange boutiques or dealers to have different perspectives from other markets. The Lange boutique in Lisbon is not the largest one but it is maybe the most charming!

A new piece was unveiled during the same month and it was a special one because it featured a honey gold case. The Lange One Timezone Honey Gold is not very revolutionary but this case material works very well with it.

December: the straps created with Alexander Kraft

Sadly, I couldn't attend the pre-SIHH event but I had a very nice compensation! The boutique in Paris presented a full set of straps created by Camille Fournet with Alexander Kraft. And believe me, some combos were exciting like this one presented in the article:

As you can see, 2016 was for me a very busy Lange year and it is the way I and we love them! My wish for 2017 is to get the same activity with a lot of events, meetings with friends, discussions on the forum... Lange is a brand which creates a lot of passion and we are here, on PuristSPro or in the real life to live it and to share it. I wish you, to your families and to the Lange teams in the world a very happy new year!

We share the passion for this brand. It was great to meet you at the Paris Boutique and perhaps we will again in the coming year. I hope your 2017 is not only great horologically but better in all the other ways that 2016 left short. Cheers to you! Mike

... is far better for you than 2016 was. 2016 seemed like a really difficult year for a lot of people for a variety of reasons. Earlier today, I went on a nice long 2.5-hour run with two friends, and the first thing one of them said when we started was, "Well gentlemen, thank God this awful ****ing year is finally almost over!" [And ironically, to demonstrate that point, about 8 miles later I tripped on some broken pavement and fell down!] Thank you again for all you and the other mods do to mak
