An optical illusion, but it got me thinking. Lange has cautiously dipped its toes into salmon dials with the Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon and the Lange 1 Perpetual. This was probably in response to market sentiments.

Given that both proved to be desirable, would we see the introduction of hitherto unconventional but popular dial variations from the brand?

The immediate colour that comes to mind is green, which is sprouting from almost every other brands like mushrooms. I think it may still go well with Lange if that is carefully executed, but I shudder at the thought of more outlandish colours, say, purple (shudders). I wonder if there will be any surprises at Watches & Wonders 2022.

In the meantime, I'll settle down to coffee with my staid but comfortable silver. Little wonder my wife finds me boring!

If my memory serves me well there was a unique 1815 Chronograph with a rose gold dial, the winner watch Concorso d'eleganza Villa d'Este

I prefer classic white and black dials on my watches. Other colors look interesting, but I'm not sure how well they'll stand the test of time. Enjoy!

I find myself going back to the grey strap, despite having a number of other colours. The combination makes me smile!

I doubt that is likely though. My gut feeling is that Lange will keep this only for exclusive releases.
