Lange & Söhne's groundbreaking Lange 1, shares his journey to acquiring a specific reference that perfectly balances historical significance with modern enhancements. His post highlights the enduring appeal of the Lange 1 as a daily wearer and the strategic decision-making involved in selecting a rare blue dial variant with the instantaneous date jump.

Maybe someday I will join you in the club 👍
Glad you were able to get the one you wanted. Excellent and beautiful choice.
Question for you; what pulled you towards the blue dial? With the appreciation of the history why not something that represented the original dial / case colouring. Maybe you answered that insofar as the instantaneous date jump being a priority.
The original configuration is a bit too dressy for me. Blue dresses it down a lot. Also it's more rare and rarity usually leads to better value retention (usually).
I asked as I’ve puzzled over a Lange 1 for a long long time. Ultimately several years ago concluding that if I ever own one I should own one in yellow gold. And hopefully let the strap choice move it to a more casual watch. It’s one of a long list of watches that remain on the wish list !
And that was a top contender for me too. Can't go wrong. It's an iconic watch no matter how you slice it. I do really like the upgrades in the new calibre though.
