Ivan5's photo essay from the A. Lange & Söhne Oktoberfest event in Brooklyn offers a rare glimpse into the brand's community engagement outside of traditional watch fairs. His candid shots capture the atmosphere, providing valuable insight for collectors interested in how luxury brands connect with enthusiasts in urban settings. This thread also sparked a discussion on brand nomenclature, a subtle but significant aspect of collector culture.

And thanks for the pictures! But surprised that ALS is mixing metaphors - no Oktoberfest in Saxony 😉
Came up with a different acronym for its branding, as I have a friend who just passed away from ALS.
Nobody used to call it "ALS." "ALS" became a popular shorthand some years ago. I was hoping the term would never catch on, but unfortunately it did among a subset of collectors/enthusiasts (perhaps newer/younger ones). Of course, those who haven't been touched by the disease or aren't familiar with it can't be faulted for using "ALS" as an acronym, though I'm sticking with "Lange" which is just 5 characters and works for Patek, Rolex, and Omega.
