Foversta announces the grand opening of the A. Lange & Söhne Boutique in Paris, a significant development for enthusiasts of Saxon watchmaking. His report details the boutique's modern architectural concept, its partnership with Dubail, and offers a first look at several key timepieces, including the Saxonia Thin and Grand Lange 1.

Great news for the lovers of the Saxonian Manufacture in Paris: the Lange Boutique has just opened its doors today!

Located at the 19 Rue de la Paris, the Boutique will welcome the visitors and clients from Monday to Saturday.

The Boutique is not fully owned by Lange, it is the fruit of the partnership between the brand and Dubail, the famous Parisian AD whose main Boutique is located Place Vendôme.

The entrance Rue de la Paix:

The Boutique was decorated following the latest architectural concept of the brand which is brighter, less "statutory", classy and refined at the same time:

2 of the sale desks are put by the windows but thanks to internal curtains, they can be isolated from the passing of the street without reducing the welcome atmosphere of the Boutique:

At the back of the Boutique, a poster of the Semper Opera:

Displays are organized by complications like the big date system, the moonphase indicator:

Some extra works will be done in order that the part located downstairs may welcome guests:

Frankly speaking, I was seduced by the lay-out of this Boutique and by its decoration style. I felt comfortable in it thanks to the white walls and the less imposing furnitures. It is much brighter than the Dresden Boutique.

Of course, I took the opportunity to shoot very quickly some watches!

The PG Saxonia Thin:

It is a watch I really like due to its nice dial which doesn't feel empty despite the case diameter and the absence of a second hand. I like it in PG because I find it too sober, almost boring in WG.

The specific lay-out of the Saxonia Thin movement. The wheels are visible due to its reduced height.

You can compare the sizes between an 1815 first edition and the Saxonia Thin:

I appreciate the long indexes:

I think I don't need to introduce you the new Grand Lange 1.

This watch is my fav 2012 novelty:

Diameter/Thickness ratio makes it very slender:

I also could appreciate the moving dial of the Richard Lange Tourbillon PLM:

I would like to finish the report with this very special Datograph which was created for Dubail:

14 years later, the Datograph movement remains a reference for its beauty and its efficiency.

With this last picture, like a symbol, I would like to wish a shiny future for the Boutique and a lot of success for Lange and Dubail with this first point of sale. I'm sure it will favour in France the recognition of Lange as one of the top high-end brands.

Thanks a lot to the team of the Boutique for the warm welcome!

About the A. Lange and Söhne Emil Lange Ref. 1815

The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 reference 206.032, introduced in 1999, is a notable example of the brand's commitment to traditional watchmaking principles. This model is part of the 1815 collection, which pays homage to the birth year of Ferdinand Adolph Lange and emphasizes classic design elements such as Arabic numerals and blued hands, drawing inspiration from historical Lange pocket watches. It represents a more understated and purist aesthetic compared to some of the brand's more complex offerings, focusing on fundamental horological excellence.

This particular reference features an 18k rose gold case measuring 36mm in diameter and 7.5mm in thickness. It houses the manually wound L941.1 caliber, visible through a sapphire crystal case back. The movement provides a power reserve of 45 hours. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal on the front, protecting a solid silver dial. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters, suitable for everyday wear but not for immersion.

The 1815 206.032 appeals to collectors who appreciate classical proportions and a focus on fundamental watchmaking without excessive complications. Its smaller case size reflects a more traditional approach to men's wristwatches, making it a desirable piece for those seeking a discreet yet highly refined timepiece. The combination of rose gold and a silver dial offers a warm and legible presentation, consistent with the collection's historical inspirations.

A funny thing is that Dubail opted for an old Datograph base. They don't like the latest one? ;) Best, Nicolas

So when it was created, the new Datograph was not released. And even so, I think they would have used the first version as a base for its more contained size... Diamonds always make it bigger! Fx

As having to do with the Datograph-Generations post below (Jan 12, 2013), interesting how the dato. dial has meter and not meters. With reference to that Jan. 12th post, this diamond dato. seems to have the older version style dial.
