dom007 seeks community advice on acquiring his first A. Lange & Söhne, specifically a Richard Lange Pour le Mérite. Despite previous concerns about Lange cases being too chunky for his small wrist, the dial with Roman numerals, red marks, and the movement of this particular reference have captivated him. He asks for insights on bezel scratch resistance and general opinions on the reference.

What are you waiting for? Forget the tiny scratches, they're like scars for brave warriors
Unlike my fellow purists, I am going to be less encourging as although the Lange looks great, more importantly, it has to look great on your wrist especially if you have a small wrist. I have a small wrist and tried on the rose gold version and as much I love the simplicity of the dial and the beautiful movement, it was a tad too large and also bulky which is not too dissimilar from your experience. So I now wear a 35.9mm Lange up and down which suits me fine and rests a lot better on the wrist.
If it \'sings\' to you, do it. I am also doing it.
it's that you might not be able to do better than this one as a first Lange. This is a phenomenal watch. And I'll bet you a dollar it won't be your last Lange.
Thank you! I hope so.
I always buy what I love.
