Clueless_Collector's A. Lange & Söhne Langematik, a cherished timepiece, is approaching a critical juncture: the decision to send it for a 'spa treatment.' This post delves into the common dilemma faced by collectors of luxury watches, balancing the desire for pristine condition with the reluctance to part with a beloved watch for an extended period. Clueless_Collector's query invites the community to weigh in on the optimal timing for servicing a high-horology piece showing minor signs of wear.

Leave it alone and enjoy it until it NEEDS servicing. Same price my friend, and you get to spend more time with the watch!
This is wonderful and I feel so relieved now. Very glad I asked. Cheers 🍻
and they said it’s fine to postpone service until the watch quits or shows obvious signs of performance shortcomings like poor precision or diminished power reserve. In the meantime keep the pics coming and enjoy your Lange!!
And it is still performing well, to my satisfaction. This is very encouraging. Thanks for sharing your experience and info.
Send it in for service, and sell it. For again a Pattek Philippe., or let’s say a Philippe Dufour.
Yeah super hard to decide; at least a very diverse collection to hold you over. Did they say how long the turnaround time is? Will the boutique AD handle he shipping to Germany for you? As others said you can wait till actual degradation.
