Jay (Eire)'s post delves into the practicalities of daily watch wear, specifically the habit of setting a watch immediately versus waiting until a more opportune moment. His experience with an A. Lange & Söhne PLM highlights how the tactile pleasure of winding can influence this routine, prompting a discussion among collectors about their own habits and preferences for setting their timepieces.

Another great looking ensemble today!
and get it running and time & date set once I get to the office. Rushed enough in the morning as it is. Don't think I've ever worn one without winding and setting for a whole day though.
But everything else, I set asap...too OCD, I guess
For this one, while not complicated to set there is a lot of joy in the winding. That is something I don’t want to rush.
And for this watch one doesn’t want to rush the winding. The winding is the great pleasure with this one, what you feel, what you hear and what you see. I always wind it looking at the movement side.
And I never go more than my commute plus a few minutes until it is set correctly.
