greatpa initiates a compelling discussion on the nuanced appeal of yellow gold versus rose gold in A. Lange & Söhne timepieces. This article delves into the brand's strategic use of yellow gold, a material Wilhelm Schmid noted they produce in limited quantities for specific models. greatpa's original post, featuring an unedited image of a yellow gold Lange, sets the stage for a community exploration of this classic metal's resurgence and its place within Lange's esteemed collection.

It‘s much more difficult to create a good looking yellow gold watch compared to rose/red gold, though.
I have heard people talk about that come back, maybe amplified by the "neo-vintage-movement" How would you say it is a challenge to make a good looking YG watch compared to RG or WG?
Because of that, YG can look tacky more easily, if not done right. But your ALS is an example of YG done right. It‘s not a big watch, it’s classy and it‘s got a silver/white dial. Everything works well together.
Below are some favorites in both metals, YG top two (even though the Dato looks like rose here) and RG bottom. Lange currently is pursuing a new strategy with YG. Lange has priced the iconic YG/champagne dial Lange 1 (191.021) higher than the equivalent RG and WG Lange 1 models, and the 191.021 is available only at Lange's flagship boutiques (7 flagship boutiques in the world, 1 per region). I believe a purchase history is required to get the 191.021 too.
…and twice on Sunday : ) As I’ve said before, ‘yellow’ gold is real gold. Although I do appreciate Honey Gold for the durability.
…for me it never left : )
