Friends,
As mentioned I was travelling yesterday. Yes, you guess it, I had been โon the roadโ with my time machine again and took a quick trip back to the 1940s to pick up this wonderful Mimo Tank.
I love rectangular tank watches, so this one is a real treat.
Quite small by todayโs standards but I can confirm in the 40s it was right in fashion.
Case is 29x22 but it wears bigger than that.
The case and the dial are not curved, but there is a slightly domed crystal. A great detail that is impossible to show in a two-dimensional photo.
The Label reads โ24545โ and the Price shown was โ39,60โ. Donโt remember the currency as I paid with my good name.
What a great time capsule to bring back to 2018!
Best,
CC
Being a novice, I've never heard of Mimo. Do you mind giving me the executive summary? Cheers

Beautiful time capsule full of charm from times gone by Big congrats Cheers D
Mimo is part of GP history. In the 1920s, GP was having a hard time during the world economic crisis and the German Otto Graef who lived and worked in La Chaux-de-Fonds and owned the watch maker Mimo bought GP. For a while both brands existed in parallel but in the 1940s, the decision was then to only go forward with GP as a brand and retire Mimo as a brand name. You can search for Mimo in the forum and you will find many interesting articles. CC
Thanks Alkiro. Those little marvels in that condition are a must-pickup.
