Another busy year for Montblanc with a new collection (the 48.10), an impressive pocket watch, several high end watches... but of course, the ambition remains the same: for the entry level or the complicated watches, the prices remain fair and I would say "affordable" in order to propose some prestigious complications to clients who usually can't afford them.

Here comes the impressive pocket watch inspired the Tourbillon Cylindrique Geospheres. You will notice the change of dial layout:

The SS version of the 1858 chronograph tachymeter is gorgeous as everybody knows it.

This version of the Exotourbillon offers 3 destinations: America, Europe and Asia. 36 pieces per continent... well, except Asia wih 38. So you are thinking: 38 to put a 8 and offer the lucky number. Maybe... but 36+36+38=110... a nice way to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the brand!

The in-house Worldtimer module is back in the context of the 48.10 collection (and so with an enlarged case). The dial becomes warmer thanks to the use of more vivid colours.

The Exo Tourbillon Slim and the crown position display inspired by the instruments of the ocean liners.

Montblanc also celebrates the comeback of the caliber LL100 in the context of the 48.10 collection with the Twinfly chronograph:

That's all for today!

About the Montblanc 1858 Collection Ref. 1858

The Rolex Bubble Back, reference 1858, represents an early example of Rolex's self-winding waterproof wristwatches. This reference is part of the broader Bubble Back family, characterized by its distinctive domed case back designed to accommodate the thicker automatic movement of the era. It showcases Rolex's foundational efforts in developing robust and reliable automatic timepieces for everyday wear, laying groundwork for future Oyster Perpetual models.

This particular reference features an 18k white gold case, measuring 38mm in diameter. It is fitted with a sapphire crystal, protecting a silver dial. The watch is powered by an automatic movement, specifically the Boucheron 1858 caliber, offering a power reserve of 42 hours. The fixed bezel and leather strap complete the watch's classic presentation.

For collectors, the reference 1858 holds interest as an early and relatively rare iteration within the Bubble Back series, especially in white gold. Its larger case size for the period also makes it appealing to modern tastes. The presence of a date complication adds to its functionality, distinguishing it from simpler time-only Bubble Back models and highlighting Rolex's early integration of practical features.

Montblanc really have been raising their game with all the new offerings in the past two years. As a watch lover, wonderful. For watch buyers, a lot to choose from but also a lot to digest.
