MTR, a respected voice in the WatchProSite community, shares his latest acquisition: the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon “Pierre Gasly.” This article delves into MTR's personal journey with this limited-edition timepiece, offering a candid look at the allure of independent watchmaking and the challenges of resisting horological temptation. His detailed account provides valuable insights into the watch's design, technical specifications, and real-world wearability, making it a compelling read for collectors interested in Moser's unique blend of tradition and modernity.

It looks like I didn’t keep my promise after all.
But honestly – I am completely innocent! 😇

If we put aside the recent PuristSPro 25th Anniversary model, I really haven’t ordered or bought anything since the Panerai Mike Horn. (And believe me, some Octo Finissimo pieces have tempted me quite a bit in the meantime…)

The truth is, this one was decided a few months ago – I gave my word to Eduard Meylan months back. I was shown an unofficial prototype of this beauty and I was immediately blown away and … convinced.

And a handshake is a handshake…

So here we are: my next watch is already on the way to Vienna.

And to avoid any confusion: I am not talking about the ultra-exclusive ruby-set piece limited to 10 examples, but rather the version that truly spoke to me – the Streamliner Tourbillon “Pierre Gasly” on a chocolate-brown rubber strap, limited to 100 pieces worldwide.

This model manages to balance refined craftsmanship with real-world wearability. The chocolate fumé dial with sunburst gradient tones, the warm red gold case, and the perfectly matched rubber strap give it a unique character. And despite the flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock and the technical finesse inside, the watch remains absolutely practical – with a power reserve of 72 hours and a water resistance of 12 ATM.

Key specifications:
• Model: H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon “Pierre Gasly”
• Limited Edition: 100 pieces
• Case: 40 mm, 5N red gold, Streamliner design
• Dial: Chocolate fumé with sunray finish, transparent logo
• Movement: Automatic Caliber HMC 804 with one-minute flying tourbillon and double hairspring
• Power Reserve: 72 hours
• Bracelet: Integrated chocolate-brown rubber strap
• Water resistance: 12 ATM

For me, this piece is a perfect example of what makes Moser so compelling: purity, technical excellence, just the right amount of boldness and practicality/wearability.

So yes – despite my very best intentions to “downsize” in 2025, my collection is about to welcome another very exciting member. And I’m already looking forward to sharing live shots with you once it lands in Vienna.

All the best
Thomas

I know just how hard it is to resist a new shiny watch however good the intentions may be, but as our friends "The Borg" so rightly say "Resistance is futile". Looking forward to your pictures and thoughts once you have it in hand. Marc

If you made a promise, what could you do? It would have been rude not to follow through! All the best, Jon

(Friendly humor) Promised everyone ... and of course everyone knew was a lie.... I swear this is my last one bullsh.... blah blah ..... waiting for this and that but we all know I'm already sold and paid a deposit for it while selling my first born child. Sure, you're "completely innocent". We believe you. Right everyone? Yeah. We get it. 😍😎😁 Enjoy your time 🍾🎉

Very funny reply. 😂 But I have to set a few things straight: 1. I had not to pay any deposit. And I hoped (until yesterday when the information reached me) the watch would be released later. 2. I promised it „just“ to my partner and to myself. Not to my friends here. 😁 3. My first born child is 21 and can’t be sold anymore. This is a fundamental problem. 😎 Thus my innocence remains - almost - untouched. Cheers Thomas

And yes, it was rather easy for me to remain polite and true to my word here. All the best to you, too! Thomas
