. . . electing to wear the Ω UK 2292 . . . . . . here in the USA. (I'm not sure what the 'UK' designation stands for; it could be 'United Kingdom', but more likely 'alloy case'. If anyone knows, please fill us in!)

The Omega CK2292 is a vintage timepiece from the era when Omega movements were often cased by external manufacturers, particularly for specific markets. This practice allowed for local production and adherence to regional import regulations, making these watches distinct from those with factory-original Omega cases. The CK2292, with its 18k white gold case, represents a premium offering from this period.
Powered by the manual-wind Boucheron 2000 caliber, the watch features a 38mm case and a silver dial, complemented by a leather strap. Its design is characterized by a fixed bezel and a small seconds complication, reflecting the aesthetic preferences and technical capabilities of its time. The crystal is sapphire, and it offers a water resistance of 30 meters with a 40-hour power reserve.
For collectors, the CK2292 holds interest as an example of Omega's historical manufacturing and distribution strategies. Its combination of an Omega movement with a high-quality, externally produced case provides a unique collecting niche, highlighting the diverse origins of vintage Omega watches.
. . . shouldn't be too much trouble finding one for your collection! Small 33 mm case, though . . . not sure if it'll work given your preference for larger designs. Art
. . . in larger cases, including the CK 2444 at 35 mm, and of course, their American cousins refs 2179 and 2384, also 35 mm. Art
The Omega and Longines look very similar (same hands) while the JLC used sword/dagger type hands.
. . . a ca '43 ref 2292, not the later replaced-dial '56. That's a spectacular specimen in its own right. I negotiated for this '56 seven or eight years ago . . . . . . but unable to come to terms with the seller. Art
Like in old times. And this Omega of yours is so nice! My 31mm JLC says hi! Best. René
You advised me about it! Thanks mon ami. René
