About the Panerai Luminor Ref. 661

The Luminor reference 661 is notable for its use of Carbotech, a composite material based on carbon fiber, which provides a distinctive matte black appearance and a lightweight yet robust case. This reference represents Panerai's continued exploration of advanced materials within its established Luminor case design, offering a contemporary interpretation of the brand's aesthetic. It stands out in the collection for its technical material innovation rather than traditional metal alloys.

The watch features a 44mm Carbotech case, housing the P.9010 automatic mechanical caliber. This movement provides a three-day power reserve, a practical duration for daily wear. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, ensuring clarity and scratch resistance. The Carbotech material is utilized for the case, bezel, and the signature crown protection device, maintaining a cohesive design language throughout the watch's exterior.

This reference appeals to collectors interested in modern material science applied to horology and those seeking a Panerai with a distinct visual and tactile presence. It offers an alternative to the more common steel or titanium Luminor models, positioning itself as a contemporary option within the brand's extensive catalog. The use of Carbotech contributes to its unique identity and collector appeal.

Hi Thomas, it’s actually a carbo tech model. Carbon fiber polymer, it wears very light and is extremely resilient.

I know Sergio will probably get an upset stomach looking at it but it’s a lovely watch to wear
