Tchela1's acquisition of a Patek Philippe Ref. 5711, shared just before the new year, offers a rare glimpse into the world of high-demand luxury watch collecting. This post not only celebrates a significant personal milestone for the author but also sparks a discussion among collectors about the nuances of acquiring such an iconic timepiece in today's market. Tchela1's experience underscores the evolving dynamics between collectors and authorized dealers.

But my first time walking into a store and being offered a 5711 (a couple of days before Christmas). Well, I didnโ€™t just happen to โ€œwalk in,โ€ but while visiting, my AD happened to bring this out to see if Iโ€™d be interested ;-). Itโ€™s taken me this long to come down from the clouds to finally post this. Very grateful to begin this new year! Hope everyone has a great one too!

About the Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711

The Patek Philippe reference 5711/1A-011, part of the Complications collection, is distinguished by its white dial, offering a different aesthetic compared to other dial variations within the 5711 series. This particular configuration provides a clean and legible presentation, appealing to collectors who prefer a more understated yet refined look. It represents a specific iteration of a well-known Patek Philippe model, recognized for its integrated design.

The watch features a 40mm stainless steel case, housing the self-winding Caliber 26-330 SC movement. This movement provides a power reserve of 45 hours. The case is fitted with a sapphire crystal, contributing to its water resistance of 120 meters. The fixed bezel and integrated bracelet are characteristic elements of its construction.

This reference appeals to collectors interested in the evolution of Patek Philippe's offerings, particularly those seeking specific dial colors within established model lines. Its production run from 2019 to 2021 marks it as a relatively recent, yet now discontinued, variant. The watch's specifications align with Patek Philippe's standards for mechanical timepieces.

We all know the 5711s are not a walk-in kind of watches to be shown...but no surprise if you got one, with your other 3. Congratulations ๐ŸŽ‰

Given your 5712 collection habit, now would you be collecting all iterations of 5711 ? This path will be an interesting and challenging one indeed ! ๐Ÿ˜‡

I feel quite blesses and lucky at the same time. But, itโ€™s of course, based on relationships, and more importantly, friendships.
