Ok, they're essentially two different worldtimers.

Oh, by the way, I've noticed a slight disputable allocation of cities on this year's updated worldtimers.

Hope to get enlightenment from people who are experts in this field (I assume most, if not all, members here are! biggrin )

Thank you for reading my first post, hope you guys enjoy it!

About the Patek Philippe Ref. 5130

The Patek Philippe Complications reference 5130, introduced in 2006, is a World Time watch that succeeded the popular reference 5110. This model maintained the distinctive World Time complication, allowing for simultaneous display of time in 24 different time zones. Its design evolved with a slightly larger case and updated dial aesthetics, distinguishing it from its predecessor while retaining the core functionality that defines Patek Philippe's travel timepieces. It was produced until 2017.

The watch features an 18k rose gold case measuring 39.5mm in diameter and 9.8mm in thickness, housing the self-winding Caliber 240 HU movement. This ultra-thin movement, visible through a sapphire crystal case back, provides a power reserve of 48 hours. The dial is silver or opaline with a guilloché center, protected by a sapphire crystal. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

Reference 5130 appeals to collectors seeking a sophisticated travel complication from Patek Philippe. Its larger case size compared to the 5110 offered a more contemporary presence on the wrist, while its classic World Time mechanism remained a hallmark of the brand's technical prowess. The model was available in various precious metals, with the rose gold variant offering a warm aesthetic.

In this age of customisation, how cool would it be if you could go to Patek (or whoever takes up this idea) and say: "I see you've got Hong Kong at the GMT+8 position, but I live in Manila. Can I get a city ring that has Manila instead? Oh, and my dad lives in Boston, so we'll have that instead of New York. And I met my wife on holiday in Berlin, so replace Paris while you're at it please!" Of course there are practical difficulties due to city name lengths, etc.; but I'm sure those aren't insur

But the cost is gonna be high for them, so unless the customers are willing to pay... and probably it'll make their special edition such as the Mecca, Munich, Singapore (I'm surprised they made them!) much less valuable, unless those have even more customizations such as dial pattern (I can't wait to see them!) We shall see!

guilloche dials before I can decide which one I like better The 5230 guilloche is a new pattern which I am not familiar with The 5930 has similar or same guilloche as the 5110 and this pattern is stunning ! Cheers, Gordon

Might be prohibitively expensive, and not sure if custom versions of regularly released watches are available Cheers, John
