The G is not my favorite version, well, with this silver dial. I would prefer the Salmon G or the Black dialed P.

But, that being said, I cannot deny this perpetual chronograph is a killer and a dream for me. The kind of watch which would make me happily trade or sell some of my treasures to get it.

Not because it is a Patek, I don't really care about that, but because THIS Patek is a summit of classicism and beauty.

Best,

Nicolas

All I need in my collection is a Patek Philippe PCC....

and the 5970J/R/G/P or 5270J/R/G/P will do...just need the push to trade for it, someday when I feel I need to consolidate. I just need one...one grail...and such grand complication is all I like to spend for my watch hobby.

I would favor the 5970 over the 5270, personally. I find the dial and case to be more my taste, and I prefer the decoration of the Lemania movement, too.

Agreed. I could see the G, R and P. I still have to see the J, but no doubt about that.

I can certainly appreciate your feeling that way. With the possible exception of 5016 which is stratospherically priced, 5970 is my absolute favorite modern Patek.

For me it is the perfect watch in any metal. If I were to limit myself to a 3 watch modern collection, it would be 5970 in any metal (but P is my favorite), 5070G and a sport Rolex (preferably a steel Daytona). Next month Phillips Geneva will have all 4 metals of 5970 in consecutive lots. It will be interesting to see if the current steep downtown affecting many watches results in lower prices on those 5970s. Perhaps now is a good time for you to attempt trading and/or selling some watches and g

Lucky you, my friend. As you know this P is my favorite, with this damn Salmon G. ;)
