Clueless_Collector challenges Patek Philippe's marketing of the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time Ref. 7234R, arguing that its 37.5mm size transcends gendered designations and offers a versatile option for any collector. This discussion highlights the evolving perception of watch sizing and the potential for brands to create more universally appealing timepieces. Clueless_Collector's personal experience with the 7234R underscores its wearability and underappreciated status within the Patek Philippe catalog.

“It is also the first self-winding Travel Time model in Patek Philippe’s collection for women.”

Then came 7234G when it was described as suitable for both men and women “Patek Philippe has launched the self-winding white-gold Calatrava Pilot Travel Time in the new medium format (37.5 mm) that assures a subtle presence on the wrist.”

I still feel brand’s should have more watches for couples to share. I’m wearing this 7234R, it’s a nice size.

About the Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time Ref. 5524

Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time Reference 5524

The Reference 5524 represents Patek Philippe's Calatrava Pilot Travel Time model in 18k white gold with black dial configuration. This 42mm reference distinguishes itself within the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time range through its precious metal case construction and contrasting dial color combination.

The watch features a 42mm case crafted from 18k white gold with polished bezel treatment. The black dial is protected by sapphire crystal, with the case offering 60-meter water resistance. The automatic Caliber 324 S C movement provides 45 hours of power reserve. The watch is completed with a calfskin leather strap secured by a fold-over clasp.

In production since 2015, the Reference 5524 appeals to collectors seeking a larger-format Patek Philippe dress watch with travel functionality. The white gold case material and 42mm diameter position this reference within the contemporary segment of the manufacture's catalog, catering to preferences for substantial case presence and precious metal construction.

I second (3rd?) that! And another one that looks great on you…I find my 5524r too large for me. 🙁

Is that a black croc strap? I’m loving that look!

I swap out the original calf leather with a brown croc and it transforms the look.

I think you should try it, makes a huge difference imho.
