Besides the 5226G, this is the other Calatrava that really got my attention!

About a month ago, I finally found a boutique that actually had one to see in the flesh!

Even with the plastic on, the contrasting hands and indices against the salmon dial creates this stunningly beautiful execution!๐Ÿ˜

IMHO Similar to other pieces with no bezels, it wears like a 39 - 40mm piece, rather than 38mm. The lug-to-lug length, which reminds me of many German pieces, doesnโ€™t help!

Iโ€™m still undecided about this strap.๐Ÿง But I see this pairing well with many other straps.

Although I wish it was it 36 - 37mm, I still registered interest even though it may be slightly too large for my wrist. I figured I would be dead by the time I get a call!๐Ÿ˜†

Unfortunately, my shots of the engine room didnโ€™t come out that well due to the plastic.๐Ÿ˜”

Curious to hear your impressions๐Ÿ’ญ We know Henry is a fan! I donโ€™t believe he has stop wearing it since receiving his piece!๐Ÿ˜

About the Patek Philippe Ref. 5226

The Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 5226G-001, introduced in 2022, presents a contemporary interpretation of the classic Calatrava design. This model is distinguished by its textured dial and a case design that integrates the strap lugs seamlessly, offering a cohesive aesthetic. It represents an evolution in the Calatrava line, moving towards a more modern and robust appearance while retaining the collection's characteristic purity of form. The reference was launched alongside the Annual Calendar Travel Time reference 5326G-001, sharing certain design cues.

Crafted in white gold, the case of the 5226G-001 features a hobnail pattern on its flanks, a detail that adds a subtle texture without detracting from its overall understated presence. The watch is powered by the self-winding caliber 26-330 S C, a movement known for its reliability and slim profile, visible through a sapphire crystal case back. This caliber provides a power reserve suitable for daily wear and includes a date display and sweep seconds.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking a modern Calatrava with distinctive design elements. Its white gold case and unique dial texture set it apart from more traditional Calatrava models, offering a fresh perspective on a foundational Patek Philippe collection. The integration of the hobnail pattern, traditionally found on bezels, into the case band provides a subtle nod to Patek Philippe's heritage while presenting a contemporary execution.

Pictures were nice, as well as โ€˜ideaโ€™ of salmon. But when I saw on my wrist, it was a clear winner. You described it perfectly.

. . . and, for the first time ever, thought "Hmmm, a new Patek I could actually feel comfortable with in my collection." Thanks for sharing wrist shots, Mach. I didn't try it on, so your pics are the next best thing. Art

That is hilarious Mark! Thanks so much for the pics and write up. This is really the only PP Iโ€™m interested in. Your summary confirms my initial impressions (without seeing in the metal yet). I imagined it would wear bigger due to thin bezel, and that is too bad about broad lug to lug measurement. But overall a very attractive novelty! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
