Cazalea, a respected member of the WatchProSite community, offers an intimate look at the work of independent watchmaker Paul Gerber, including his own PuristSPro 10th-anniversary timepiece. This article explores Gerber's unique contributions to horology, from his role in creating some of the world's most complicated watches to his distinctive multi-rotor movements. Cazalea's personal reflections and detailed imagery provide a rare glimpse into the artistry of a master craftsman who, despite his significant impact, remains somewhat under the radar.

We haven’t seen our heard much from Paul lately — I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s partially retired (I am, and he’s a bit older than me).

Some here may remember he was the watchmaker who over a period of years helped create “the world’s most complicated wristwatch”

was instrumental in the creation of the MIH, the initial models of Ochs & Jr, and of course a line of his own watches - most with dual or triple rotors. Plus clocks!

I’m wearing the PuristSPro 10th anniversary watch which is now 10 years old itself. Only Ten were made and I admit I’ve never seen another on anyone’s wrist.

The triple rotor winding system is intriguing and functional but was made for charm, not to be the most efficient system on the planet.

You can get a similar watch, the Model 42, directly from Gerber dealers. Or order something custom…

Gerber always seemed like he made 'fun' watches...nothing stuffy.

...I had never seen rotors like that before. Don't know if it's a good idea or not, but they look awesome : )

I've got a Retro twin in WG tucked away at the bank. Also, recently sold my MIH. His talent seems pretty exceptional.

Not only the subject, your quality post is at journalism level. The pictures telling a story, and a joy to read. The watches are one of a kind. Triple rotors, who came to that idea? PG! Great that you wrote ‘it is not that efficient, but to look at a showcase what looks can do. Sometimes it is good to not have perfection, and go for what had never done before. Another way of thinking, and go for something unusual is very unique.
